My cherished 994s2 is going to have to be sold :-(

I have too many cars (inc. 3 Porsches) so the 944s2 is going to have to go. I've put heart and soul (and much cash) into this car during my 5 years of ownership, but it's time to move her on to another caring owner. Will be putting G247ABW up for sale this week. With the recent full body re-paint and OPC (Porsche Silverstone) 12K service inc. belts, water pump, she probably the best she'll ever be and I don't want to add a single mark or stone-chip. Wondering what price I should advertise for? Your thoughts? https://flic.kr/s/aHskgpgoMQ

Too good to sell!

I'd be thinking £15K minimum with the work done to it. Possibly more, but as always anything over 100K miles (wrongly) puts some people off.

What do you others think?

£15k would be very strong money for an S2. Very strong indeed, but if the market is going up then have a go. How quickly do you want to sell it?

The more money you get for yours the more everyone else's is worth, so the more the merrier!

Oli.

Blimey £15,000 would be perfect! I was hoping for more that £12,000. Here's what's been done to it...

Strong money for one with that amount of recent work? Assuming it's all work done to a good standard of course, I can't see you buying an average S2 and doing all that work to it for £15K.

It's also a good spec car to start with. The best of the 944 range without doubt [;)], in a good colour inside and out, with sports seats, on the right wheels: it's lovely.

I tihnk you have to value restored cars, with all the evidence to support the work done, at the top of the market. Otherwise people won't restore them!

All the major mechanical work listed above has been done to a very high standard. The car has a full service history file with receipts and a fully stamped service book going back to its first registration in 1990. I have a Porsche COA and the car checks out with all the options listed at the time of sale (apart from the Sony radio I fitted, but I do have the original Panasonic unit in a box).
Thanks for your help with valuation - I'm going to advertise it for £12,500 and see what happens.

TBH i think you are nearer the mark at 12.5k Paul Ruddy has just sold his mint and i mean mint S2 with low miles at circa 14k the car was better than new outside and underneath, the interior looked to be about 12 months old.
The car was in timewarp condition with low miles and a very comprehensive history with work done that was really not necessary but Paul was fanatical, some of you will have seen the pics on here, it was better when seen in the metal..............................stunning !
Good look with the sale, are you sure you want to do that !!

Great looking car, good luck with the sale. Someone will have a bargain, even if it costs them - does that make sense?

are they turbo seats with the larger side bolsters? Great to see the point of the shield on the wheel hub centres pointing towards the valve. That's got to be a clincher regarding attention to detail! ??

Mike

I thought Paul's was under-valued at that price. You just couldn't buy an S2 for £5K, or even £10K, and get them to this standard without investing far more in the end.

Unless you are DIY-ing it just add up the list of recent work on Marcus' car? £15K alone? Perhaps far more. I haven't seen it, so basing my comments on the advert only, of course.

Thanks for your comments and advice. I really don't want to sell, but i need the space as I've just acquired a 1974 911 2.7 Targa project car that's been in a barn since 1994. Currently, my 944s2 is in classic car storage (Historit in Bicester) which is costing me a small fortune every month. If I had the space I'd keep it as it's in fantastic condition and I've put my heart and soul into it over the last 5 years. :-(

If space is the main issue then have you thought about different storage? may seem a little obvious to ask but for the last few years I have had an external car cocoon that circulates air and I think it works well.
