My drivers door wont open from outside.

Hi,

I have a problem with my drivers side door and I was wondering if anyone could offer some help.
The drivers door wont open on the outside but will from inside, when i try to open the door on the outside just a little, the window drops but the door wont open.
I am unsure if this has anything to do with it, but I had my window down today and set the alarm off, disarmed it, got inside and the next time I tried to get in I could not, like I say proberly nothing to do with it, but just thought I would state that.

Its a 996 - c2
 
I think your problem is on the door handle itself. There is a small pin and link which connects the handle to the catch/lock mechanism and these have been known to break. (Items 9/10/12 on the attached).
