Oops, I did it again... bought a car on impulse at the weekend - in Halifax, 4 hours after seeing the ad.

The latest addition to my collection? A 1972 Beetle 1300: great fun to drive and it made the journey back down from Halifax seem surprisingly effort-free. The engine is really well sorted, a few bits of bodywork and stuff to attend to but nothing major. Anyway, a fair bit will be changing. The end goal is a 'pre-period restoration' with a '60s rallying influence (mmm, vintage bucket-seats [8D]), in a nice 356 colour. Anyway, just wanted to post a pic:

Having just driven the Beetle for 100 miles I got straight into the 924 for another 50, and boy did it feel zippy (and quiet!) by comparison.

No relevance to 944s I'm afraid, but humour me - I just got a new car [;)]

Haha, only if you're on the hard shoulder with a flat tyre! [:D] Although in the Beetle's defence I should point out that it managed a GPS-confirmed 81mph at one point [8D] and of course I never go any faster than that anyway [;)]
