My first dent

I own an almost concours 3.2 in Grand Prix White, well I did until last night!!! A young boy racer thought he could turn right ahead of me, as I was on the way home from my first sunny day run, he misjudged it! My almost concours 3.2 in Grand Prix White, now has a broken near side headlight, a badly dented front wing and a scraped bumper (at first sight). Unfortunately on closer inspection, the passenger door is misaligned and the gaps and seams around the bonnet are now now no longer even.

Do you think the impact would have done anything I can't see, I was probably only doing 20 mph when we hit.

I'm based in Nottingham but am preapred to travel to get this sorted properly. Can anyone suggest anyone?

Sorry to hear of your trouble. Afraid I can't help with suggestion for body shop but make sure that any insurance claim includes compensation for diminution in vehicle value in addition to the cost of repair. There are solicitors specialising in this, one of which I remember seeing an advertisement for in the Porsche Post a while ago.

I always get confused with is near and off-side. But whichever side it is, you need to make sure either the oil cooler isn't damged (expensive) or the other side and its the screen washer resevoir. Can't suggest anywhere Notts way, but shop around and visit a few places to get a feel for their work. My car was repaint by the previous owner somewhere in Notts, the finish is excellent. I would have to look back through the invoices to see who it was.

Hi jam1976,
The people I would recommend is Tony and Sean Littlejohn at GTR Motorsport. They are based in Berkshire. They have a regular stream of customers with RS, NGT and RSR cars that will take them to no other place, me included. Tony ran PCGB body repair program and left thorugh restructuring when the Cayenne arrived.
Kind regards Ian

Near side is nearest the curb or pas side on RHD cars, off side is the other side!

Could try tuthills, they are fairly close ( Banbury) and only really work on Impact bumper and earlier 911s. I've never had any bodywork done there, but seen what they can do. The bodyshop there is very good and knows their way around our cars. I think Zentrum have a body shop and they are in Notts. Might be worth a go.

bad luck with the dent.. hope that you get it resolved quickly and easily.
I am fortunate enough not to have needed any bodywork done to my car, however I have seen some exceptional work done by Chris Reynolds, at Reynolds of Rushock. They work on all types of Porsche and are Porsche approved.
Good luck with it.....

Tony of GTR Motorsport can be found on 07980874690
I hope you find the quality of repair that you need.
Kind regards Ian
