Vroom, You have been busy watching your video, plotting curves etc The graph clearly shows where Danno has made it purposely lean at low revs to increase spool up.

12 hours until my car goes on the rollers [8D] Expect to see another graph here tomorrow. We've gone dyno mad [8|]

It's here [:D]

300 Bhp (258 at the wheels) and 330lbft of torque [:)] That's a 13 bhp increase since November just for the effort of sticking a few more washers in my wastegate [&:] it does still bleed boost after 5000rpm so a TiAL DPW would help there (and be a darned sight easier to adjust)

Out of interest I also stuck the S2 on the rollers to see how the old girl is shaping up after 15 years and nearly 150,000 miles - 207 Bhp and 182 lbft of torque, compared with 211 when it left the factory [:D] That's a pretty good testimony to Porsche engineering and build quality

A friend was with me in a standard 1985 220bhp Turbo, it made 219Bhp today [:D] He's very happy and will be back when he's fitted his Promax/ Guru kit

Nice one Paul. interesting yours makes its torque at higher revs than mine but power at lower, i must be holding slightly more boost for longer, as you say the tial will make a big difference. You must be happy with those figures? (Slim secretly grins at not getting beat [;)])

Damn, must get that Tial wastegate ordered or at least fit the shims that came with my guru / promax kit :)

Tim.

Pah [;)] it was 16 degrees down here yesterday, if it had been 10 degrees or cooler I'd have been over 400 [:D][:D][:D]

I saw on Titanic that your mate posted that Jam Sport (is that really what they're called? Why not Marmalade Sport or Peanut Butter Sport [&:]) are offering a 944 day. What sort of facilities do they have? I'd probably be up for it in terms of just a meet and to stick a car on the rollers to figure it, but if Wayne can be there and my Turbo is together and run in then I'd be even more interested if we could play with it a bit.

All that said though I won't be ready for a final remap of the Turbo until November at best because I want to blow my bonus on it and I don't get that until October [>:]

Yes I'd forgot to mention this [&:]

The chap who runs JamSport in Northampton (Danny) offered to host a rolling road day for a group of us. This would be purely for power tests to see what state your engine is currently in (or how modifications have worked) at a price of £25 each +vat

If anyone wanted they could also bring along Wayne from ChipWizzards to give tuning advice. Wayne is used by many of the Porsche Club racers to tune their cars. This would obviously cost a lot more as Wayne is expensive and really knows his stuff. I doubt there would be time for anyone to have their car remapped by him on the day as that would take 3-4 hours, and with each car taking about 30 mins just to power test we simply couldn't fit it in. Danny also said they could fire up a BBQ out the back to keep us fed and entertained.

JamSport is a small backstreet tuning company, more used to dealing with Cosworths and Saxos etc but the three blokes that work there are very keen and I think eager to forge links with Porsche cars. They have one Sun rolling road and two vehicle lifts and a host of tools. The rolling road provides a graph of Bhp and torque but they cannot plot air fuel ratios or amount of boost . They do have a sensor that they shove up the exhaust to give a simple 'you are running too rich or lean' statement. They also do plain car servicing (we had to wait while they finished off a Fiesta Zetec yesterday) they also have a ceiling high stack of Max Power magazines with various scantily clad ladies for those inclined [] Baseball caps can be lent to any that do not yet own their own yet [:D]

If anyone is interested in such a day then post here and then we'll start the haggling on dates. I presume a Saturday would fit in better with most people

I would be up for that as mine still hasn't been on a rr since the guru mods and I discovered and fixed a boost leak since the janspeed visit, Ideally I would like to fit the tial first,
Tony

I'm up for it - clearly Le Mans rules out early June for many of us but otherwise flexible - I'm interested to see what both cars make so if it's too soon for the Turbo I'll bring the cab.

Can we work on the £25+VAT aspect though? Last one I went to was £15 all-in.

I'd be interested to come along, even if just for the experience, I am new to all this power talk, and as a turbo owner, i feel the need to understand what you are all going on about!

Mine is standard, and never been on a roller, would be good to see what can be acheived from the other cars.

Well I have 11 interested people so far (3 here and 8 on Titanic 944) so it looks like we may have enough numbers soon. I'll be redoing both of mine as well so thats 13 [] the Turbo should have it's TiAL fitted and I'm going to try an EECtuner chip on the S2

I'll wait another week or so to see if we have any other takers then I'll get hold of JamSport and try for some dates.

I'm very interested.

Having spent a large part of my professional (past) career in control sytems, Power engineering and often around dynamometers, engines and the like, I'm always interested to see another one and hear about ideas. Also, it's local to me.

Hi Paul

I had not spotted this one but I could be easily persuaded if there is room to tag along aswell.

Again mine is standard so it would be nice to see how she is performing, before anyone of you lot persuade me to the road of rack and ruin and MODS!!!

Please keep me informed.

Cheers

Lee Hardy
