My hatch not opening fix

My hatch would only open from the button if someone applied some light lifting pressure at the same time as activating the motor.

I also had a distinct rattle because the pins were not secure in the latch. Today I tried to adjust the pins, they were completely rusted in, couldn't even loosen them in the vice!

Anyway, I noticed that the hatch seal was distinctively soft around the latch areas so I inserted some twin core cable up through the seal till it was past the latch area. Result is now the hatch releases from the button and the rattle has gone [:D]

Will order some new pins though as now I know they're not adjustable it will bug me [:mad:]
 
Ha ! I had a similar problem, resolved by replacing the seal with a new one (from OPC). It's great to have that button working properly ... only problem is now the hatch opens every time I go over a bump[:-]. And the latch pins are rusty and not adjustable, do they're now on the next shopping list.
