My Heated Seats Don't Work!

Got the car out yesterday for the 1st time in 4 months as I wanted to put some petrol in it before the trip to Elvington to max the 997 turbo (as advertised in PP). I knew the petrol level was low but I didn't realise quite how low until the engine died about a mile from the petrol station and Mrs G had to come to the rescue with the emergency lawnmower petrol!

Anyway, setting off to Elvington on today's cold frosty morning called for the heated seats to be used. However, neither the passenger's nor the driver's would work. I'm sure that this is unconnected with the lack of petrol incident yesterday (I mentioned that just by the way) and everything else on the car seems to work OK (the brakes were pretty graunchy but improved after some serious braking). I've tried to check the fuse but can't even find it listed on the little card inside the fuse box.

Do any of the more technically minded out there have any ideas that I could try before I have to surrender to the local PC?

The heated seats use quite a lot of current, so there will be a relay to connect it, you might want to look at that in the driver's footwell. Strange that both sides have failed, I would have expected them to have separate paths. Keep in mind too that it only works when the engine is running because otherwise the battery will go flat very quickly.

[Edit: Might also be the heating is disabled if the battery charge is not 100% - my Mercedes SL55 will quite happily disable all sorts of stuff if one or both batteries are flat and, after 4 months, your battery might benefit from being put on a charger].

My seats don't heat up either, maybe I should have specced the option [:D]

ps: Could not believe how cold leather could get [X(]
