I'm off to the Far East tomorrow until second week of Jan. (I shall return enlightened, mostly in the wallet[&o])
Thanks to all for advice etc for my first twelve months on the forum. I look foreward on my return to a full mail box of your antics. Safe driving over the Xmas period.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all[:)]

Have a nice hol - personally prefer the continous rain and wind and sub zero temperatures of Lancashire this time of year [;)]

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Anyone heard from flamingeye, I hope he wasn't on an affected beach on boxing day.

PS my wife is from the Seychelles they got hit too without any warning despite it being some hours after the maldives. Her family live on high ground so were not too affected. her aunt saw the water dissapear revealing the corals and the wave come in. Her mum was at the airport 1.5m above usual sea level, once the wave had passed there were fish all over the runway. Cars in town were floating, and bridges on the 'highway' were destroyed. They also had alot of rain the following week, her cousin said his bus had to stop to let a boat cross the road. Fortunately there were very few deaths.

We haven't seen Darren on Titanic either (but then you guys know that.)

IIRC he wasn't one of the most prolific posters so I'm hoping it is just a case of he isn't posting.

I do hope his choice of heading for this thread wasn't profetic.

Phew, I've just spoken to him and he's fine, well away from the danger zone.

It was quite horrible to see this post and realise he'd not posted since coming home. Watch this space........he'll be along soon [:D]

Good to hear, must admit I remembered he said he was off on hols and searching for the thread, the title was a little chilling.

Firstly, thanks for your concern. To Tony, Rick. Johns e-mail and Paul for ringing.
I actually spent Xmas/NewYear with the in-laws in the Philippines, so was actually well out of it. Thankfully.
Had a wonderful time.
Never made it to the Porsche dealership in Manila which I kept passing.

I have been keeping my head low since I returned. As my father-in law who had been in ill health passed away. I took the call on arrival at Heathrow to say he had died. Literally half way through our flight back. So it was a pretty tough drive from the airport to home, knowing that I had to tell my wife her father had died, once we were behind closed doors.
She immediately flew back, unfortunately I was unable to.
I take your condolence as 'read' and rather you didn't post. Cheers guys.

We should think of the reason for the this post coming back, to the people who were affected.
I guess there is always someone worse off.

Cheers
Darren
