My new 944 S2

Finally, after lots of looking and agonising, I've laid a deposit on a Guards Red, 89 944 S2.[:)]

Car is in good overall condition apart from a few areas of rust that need dealing with and the sills which need the underseal stripping off and returning the their original colour. Interior is A1 being black leather and paintwork is the best I've seen. Full complement of tools, sunroof bag etc. The mechanicals seem OK, slight seepage of oil from the rocker cover plus the power steering reservoir. All things considered though, I felt comfortable with the car and the deal.

History seems OK having been OPC, Strasse and Hartec although local servicing for the last few years. Should hopefully pick it up later this week and no doubt I'll have a stack of questions!

Nice one phil looks good. I recently did the same and have no regrets at all....in fact why did'nt i do this years ago??[8|]

happy motoring chap

congrats

did you buy it from Hartech?

When i was at Hartech a couple of months ago they had a red S2 for sale

Looks nice, but I'd be slightly wary of what's under that black stuff on the sills [&:]

It was a private sale - it's got Hartec plates and stickers under the bonnet, plus 2 condition reports in 98 & 2000 and some SH from them and Strasse, Dick Lovett. Nothing too recent though as it's been locally serviced. It's done 24k in last 5 years as a daily driver - (lady driver who doesn't rev above 3000rpm)

Can't wait to pick it up - it's in North Wales and I'm in Nottingham (so I'll need some info on R8 meets). People have said to me it must be a really special car to travel all of that distance. But to be honest it's not a concours car - cos I didn't have concours money to throw at it and having read some of the posts on here, I came to the conclusion that any car will always have a few faults that need rectifying. With this deal I get a little bit more of a budget to do those things and the things that were important to me had all their boxes ticked.

We'll wait and see ......
