My new alloys

Since getting the 944 one of the things which bugged me was that I am not keen on many of the typical alloys wheels (including the 16" teledials which were on her when I purchased her). Obviously the choice is quite limited too.

I found some bbs honeycomb style wheels on ebay and after they were resprayed and fitted with new shoes this is the result.

I know they wont be to everyones taste especially the traditionalists on here but I thought I would share anyway. Apart from the alloys I will be keeping her 'standard'. I think they make her a bit unique and suit the car quite well.

The centre caps have bee a right old PITA. Had to get some fuchs centre caps and modify them to fit the rears. I cant currently fit the caps onto the fronts as the hubs stick out too far. I have just ordered some 15mm hubcentric spacers (with bolts - not shim type) to fit on the fronts. This will allow me to fit the front centre caps.

Very, very nice. Suits the car perfectly.

One thing - are the rear tyres a lower profile that the front? The clearance to the arch looks massive
 
I can see the appeal, and it doesn't look as bad as I was expecting it to! [:)]

The rears are 'slightly' lower profile. The fronts are 205/55/16s. The rears are 225/50/16s.

The comments re the ride height are appreciated and noted. The front looks fine IMO but the back needs lowering slightly.
 
I do think they look some what diffrent ! Must have been a hard and costly process to have them looking like this ? Get some tyre dressing on the tyres and some fresh pic's ! you might notice a diffrence again ! [;)]
 
Wow - looks great - a nice twist to the usual fare. I have to agree it needs lowering tho
