My New badge won't stick properly

The new enginer cover badge arrived on saturday, so i set about removing the old one. Using the measurements from the forum on where to position the new one and masking to ensure i had it on straight i removed the self stick backing and put it in position. Only problem is the the 'C' sits where the cover is profiled so the badge at this point won't mould to the cover and hence won't stick properly. I applied pressure by implementing a jig with a piece of soft would wedged against something else and initially it stuck. But on checking today it has pulled away again.

Any ideas on how i can stop this ? I was thinking that maybe some type of impact glue but i don't want to risk damaging the paint should i need to remove it again in the future ??The self adhesive backing just doens't seem sticky enough and isn't as thick as on the badge i removed

Any help would be appreciated

Try some of those number plate adhesive pads from Halfords - they are a bit thicker and if you use a surgical scalpel you can trim the pad to the exact shape of the badge.

Did you get the correct badge? There are different part numbers depending on model year, and I expect the curvature is different, depending on whether the badge goes at the top or bottom of the engine lid.

You also need to be sure that any wax has been removed from where the adhesive tape will contact the paintwork. As the new badge appears to be in a different position to the old one this could be an issue. Use a mild solvent such as IPA or meths but wipe off while it is still wet, don't let it evaporate. Once the new badge is in place and stuck firmly (approx 72 hours) you can then re-apply your wax.

Looks like i may have to buy another badge then ! I got it from Porsche shop so i just order a black badge. It didn't give me an option from what i remember, plus i didn't remove the wax either so that's probably not helping. Good job the badges aren't that expensive!
