Farewell to both my Cayenne Turbo and my long term drive, a black 996 C4 cab...
Hello to a new Cayman S...
Racing Yellow, Black Sports Seats, Porsche Communication Managment PCM, Telephone Module, Sport Design steering wheel, Seat heating, Cruise control, Power steering Plus, Electric folding mirrors, Automatically dimming interior mirrors, Park Assist front and rear, Bi-Xenon lighting system, Sports Seats Plus, 20 Inch Carrera S wheels, BOSE Surround Sound System, Porsche Crest embossed on head restraints, Vehicle Key painted - Racing Yellow, Racing Yellow Seat Belts, White Sport Chrono stop clock, Centre console trim painted, Sports exhaust system, Interior package painted, Wheels painted in satin platinum.
And I love it!

Just need to change my avatar (can't do this via my iPad as I need to reduce image size).

Congrats[:)] The description sounds great with all the extra colour matched trim. More pics inside and out please when you can[:)]

Yes, you're a brave man to go for the yellow, looks great. Shame they don't offer speed yellow anymore. There aren't many of us with 981 Cayman S's, yet.[;)]

In my very humble opinion, racing yellow looks a million time better than 'custard' speed yellow. Actually, they do offer speed yellow, you just have to pay more [:D]

Hi Richard - thanks. I went for PDK...not a fan of "autos" but this new 'box is amazing! Hi flat6 - will do! And to Derek and Chris, I wasn't entirely sure at first, but I do love it now. Was also considering Carrara white or agate grey...but I went for it! It's a love it or loathe it colour, but most people seem to approve. I believe that some cars can pull it off while others can't. It's so well balanced and with Sports Plus activated its like a scalded cat! Miles of smiles!

If speed yellow had still been a no cost option I would have gone for it, but went for white and it looks very sharp with the 981 shape and the black plastic trim. Mines a manual, a very sweet box without Sports Plus, to be honest I haven't tried Sport yet. I find the standard exhaust sporty enough when you get a few revs on, they say the Sports exhaust is very loud, is it noisy when cruising at 70? I notice you didn't go for PASM as with the 20 ins Carrera S wheels it makes for a comfortable ride. A very similar spec. to mine otherwise.[;)]

Hey Chris. I've come from a 13 yr old 996 with a sports exhaust so the ride in the 981 is much smoother by comparison, and the exhaust note is more tuneful while still enhancing the overall sound, and retaining the ability to turn heads at a distance. I find that even with the sports exhaust switched OFF the standard noise at 70mph on the mway actually booms more than my 996, which was just LOUD, all of the time! I haven't tried cruising with the sports exhaust ON and doubt that I would. Coming from the 996 I'm just appreciating the simple things such as the remote boot & bonnet release, parking sensors, touch screen media and quiet suspension! What I can't believe is that it's only 5cm shorter than the 996 but 4cm WIDER!!

Great car but not sure about the residuals on yellow and suggest the PTV is a must ! The manual with sports chrono and rev blipper will be good but again as far as top spec goes its got to be PDK all the way. And yes i am jealous which explains why I'm a spoiler LOL ! Enjoy and ignore me !!!

Well done Neil - you've finally bought a Porsche with the engine in the correct place..! Brave choice of colour - it looks really good - and a great spec too. If you've not done so already, it's time to get yourself on the Cayman Register (there's a list of Members here: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=729177&mpage=4&key= ) Enjoy the drive this summer. Jeff
