Looks very nice Colin. What spec have you gone for?

My limited impression (2-days in a 981 Boxster PDK) with the 2.7 engine compared with the 3.4 in my manual Gen2 987 CS was the lack of torque rather than power, requiring more downshifting, but I'm sure that you'll soon adapt your driving style to suit. Anyway, it doesn't require much effort with the auto 'box paddles.

Enjoy the new car and keep us posted on your impressions. I'm envious of your location for those fast and traffic-free Highland roads, having sampled many of them over the years. Just watch out for the sheep though..!

Just replaced my much loved Cayman R with a brand new Cayman 2.7 PDK in Guards Red, CR is up for sale at OPC Aberdeen. So, first day and first proper drive out, what did I think? Obviously power is down on the CR and doesn't have the savage gear change at pace but really surprising and satisfying drive, so although I miss the power I still had fun through the twisty bits and think that we'll get on over the next 18 months.

Lovely car Colin.....looks really good in Red.

Yes, you will miss the power and torque of the CR, also the poise and steering responsiveness I would imagine.

However, a new car is always a joy. I'll look out for you on my many drives, both with my CR and Abarth, across the flowing Highland roads and give you a wave if we meet.

Happy motoring!

Brian
