All,

Thanks for all the response to the GT3 or GenII C2S post. Attached are the promised pictures, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy looking at them.

Promise to get some "dirty" shots and interior shots ;-)

Mark

Yes Spyderman, they registered it new on the private plate. Being new to private plates was that the wrong thing to do?

Colour is Meteor Grey.

No, not at all - saved you some hassle as normally you have to take the car to your local DVLA centre, where they issue you with a new tax disc.

My last 3 new cars have been registered with private plate on delivery - never a problem and when plate retained for next car the DVLA issue an age appropriate plate. paperwork handled by the OPC but I had to pay retention fee.

Looks superb - like that combo of wheels and body colour, really suits the car.

Great choice and nice pictures too.. Thank you for posting them
I've alway collected my car with the plate already on the car, certainly does save alot of hassle...
I notice the EU plate on the motor too... make good use of them [;)]

We've just got to entice you into joining the club now [:D] and perhaps coming on one of our days out...

Did you get champers. I got one key fob and nothing else having parted with the best part of 90K!!. Even used the mats from my previous car as OPC were going to charge for mats (my old mats were in good nick and did not give them with my partex.

Hi Mark,

Your new car looks great, I really like that wheel and colour combination.

Did you go for the new PDK or stick with a six speed manual?

I am sure that like me you were given a trade in offer from your OPC that was almost too good to be true.

So in the same vein I have upgraded from my 07 4S Cab to a Gen 11 Targa 4S with PDK.

My new car should be ready for collection on Friday.

I hope to be able to share some photos of my new steed when I collect it tomorrow.

Enjoy your new car!!

Nige.

Hi Jonathan,

Didn't expect the champers which was a nice surprise. All in all I feel I got a great deal and can highly recommend the use of both Gareth at Bespoke Automotive Service and Bruce Copping at Porsche Mid Sussex.

Mark

Mark,

I also notice in your pictures that you have an Origin Pogo mounted on your windscreen.

Do you have it hard wired or plugged in to the cigar lighter/power socket?

I also wondered why it is mounted on the right hand side of the car too, does that not render the rear facing laser sensor inoperable?

Just wanted to know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Nige.

Hi Nigel,

Yep, I have the PogoAlert hardwired, Porsche Mid Sussex kindly took it out of the old car and installed it in the new one prior to pick up at no extra cost.

Reason I mounted it to the right of the steering wheel was due to neatness and visibility really. Not to worried about the laser detection as if your lasered then your most likely caught...

Here are some pictures of the install in my Gen I car that I've copied for the current car... link to another forum, hopefully this doesn't break forums rules?

or you have to be b***y quick on the brakes!!!

I have a Road Angel "Connected" which sits just in front of the sports chrono thingy. Does not impair forward vision and not yet hard wired. Also invested in a laser Star front park assist which I am told could interfere with a laser beam -now that could be useful.

Thanks Mex,

I always like the look of those wheels, seeing the pictures of your Ruby Red car with the same wheels really made up my mind.

Mark, great to hear it [;)]

Email rob 997@porscheclubgb.com with your details and he'll send you out the welcome letter much quicker than waiting for head office to do it.. (well possibly not at the moment as he's on holiday [:(] ) along with the register sticker - then look for the thread on where to stick it !
I hope you get alot out of the whole experience within the club and certainly look forward to catching up with yourself (and Mex) at an event during the next 12 months...
I've been at the Classic Car show at the NEC today and they had some deals on membership.. I never really looked at the cost as I wasn't dealing with that side of things..

I was due to go to the same show with one of my mates, but work took over and I forgot that my car was going back to my OPC to get some extra's fitted that weren't available at the time of pick up and to cure a rattle in the door.

Trust there were some great classics?

Where to stick the sticker thread sounds like a funny thread!

Mark
