My new paintwork

Has some of you may know I bought Damon's (Black_JPN) car off him a few months ago. Between Damon and the previous owner before most of the big jobs and little niggles and been remedied so it's a very sorted car indeed.

It did have some stone chips & laquer damage on the front end, plus my wife also left her little mark on the n/s/f wing so I had a front end bare metal respray done during the month of May. The finish is fantastic and is a 100% match to the rest of the car. To say I'm a bit chuffed is an understatement.

A before pic (it doesn't show everything clearly but other pics were taken outside Damon's house and I don't think it's cricket to post them on a public forum)

I ran out of time to take any close up pictures so I shall get a keen photographer to take some better pictures for me soon.

Hmmm, the before pic doesn't want to play the game.

Now a count down to.........................................

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

When you get your first new stone chip [;)]

I had mine repainted and each time I went out and then when I washed it I didnt need to refill the bucket.............my tears did it for me..........[&o]

I can relate to that with every car I've had. It's one of the reasons I hate washing cars.

The place that did my paintwork have offered me 'mates rates' on the fenguard (or whatever brand it is they use) so I may well take them up on it.

Mates rates plus a small % would get them business on here I`m sure (unless they dont need the extra business)

It could be `Armourfend` ?

The paint protection film is deffo getting better, much much less visible these days i reckon anyway.

Mine has the 'old-skool' Armourfend on the front of it, and while it does a superb job (not a paint chip in sight), it's debatable whether it looks better than the marks it is trying to prevent ...

I'm sure paint-protection technology has some on some way in the last 20 years!

Oli.

I can't notice any difference Scotty [;)]

The car looks great Flick.

I've seen a few new cars recently with that plastic film stuff over it and it looks completely invisible. Seriously you simply cannot tell it is there. If I were to ever get a front end respray i'd definitely invest. Also the main brand also offers some form of lifetime guarantee that if the film is penetrated by a stone and the paintwork below is affected then they'll pay for the repair and replacement of the film on that particular panel.
