My new s2 = sale agreed in principle [ unable to complete sale]

hiya,,,,,Big thanks to Ron and Tom [monkeypaw]
Sale agreed with Ron Smith to buy his lovely S2,,,,,dove/copenhagen blue,,,108k miles ,,,,KWs front and back,,,windows out respray around 9 years and 22k miles ago and sills a couple of years ago,,new clutch..fuel/brake lines and a whole lot more,,too much to list unless i had the history in front of me instead of trying to remember from chatting with Ron and a folder full of work from Ron and the previous owner who now works for Maclaren after leaving Team Williams,,,garaged by at least two previous owners,,,,,,,
As soon as the Merc goes then it should not be too long before i get her home subject to all being well of course which i am sure it will be when my local specialist drives her as he will be looking after her as he did my last s2 for nearly seven years,,,
it was a very hard choice between Rons and another members S2 and it came down to colour only as both are "proper" with all the important work done,,,,,,
Again many thanks to Ron and Tom,,,,,,nice people sell nice cars imho,,,,
first time i see these cars would have been when i was coming to collect one of them,,,,,
Back with pics in a few weeks or even sooner hopefully,,,,,,

Sadly i have had to pull out of buying Rons S2,,,,

There is only one reason and thats not being able to sell the SL,,,,,

i have kept Ron informed and wrongly assumed that his car would be in my garage in quick time! this didnt happen,,,

When Rons s2 goes up for sale i imagine it will "fly" out once the advert goes live at the weekend,,,,,

a special car with astonishing history,,spec and og cup1s to finish her off,,,,,

After losing Rons i made sure not to miss out on another Dove/Baltic blue and will post pics if and when i get her home,,,,,

Surprised the SL hasn't yet sold - I linked it in a "looking for an SL" thread on MBOA, might have been interested myself if it would fit my garage - but I know it's a foot or so too long! The 350 is a popular choice SL, for those wanting some grunt but not the lunatic 500/55 brigade (I believe there is even a 600 version if you have shares in a petrol station and tyre depot!). GLWTS!

Yes Chris,,,,it really opened my eyes and when another SL with lower miles ,same year and immaculate but much cheaper then mine didnt get a sniff i felt the only way forward was to trade her in,,,,

i was selling her from home and in all honesty was hoping the first serious nice person would buy her and this didnt happen even when i dropped her,,,,

so i should have my other Baltic blue S2 by midweek and will open a thread when i have her in the garage instead of tempting fate and putting the "mockers" on myself[],,,,,,
