My new toy...

Guest

New member
Well at last I have my new toy to play with... shiny blue S2. Leather inside and that great premuim sound system too.
Can't believe how much better it is to drive than my old 944, and I always thought that was pretty good fun.
Now I can start fiddling about with it and finding those odd things that need doing - not many I hope, but here's the first:
I filled up the windscreen washer reservoir as it was empty, and it promptly drained straight back out through the headlight washer jets! No wonder it was empty. Even I know this isn't supposed to happen, so here's a couple of questions...
Anyone else had this happen and if so how did you solve it?
How do you get the reservoir out to examine the pumps/pipes etc? Most of it seems buried under the headlamp, but is it more accessible/removed with the lights up?
Thanks

Steve..
Nice colour car m8...[:D][:D][:D]
Just the same as mine...[;)][:D][;)] + the same age....
Personally i think its THE best colour for a S2...BUT thats probably going to ruffle a few feathers...[;)][;)]..

Did you get it privatly.??? OR a dealer.??

What colours the interior ???

very nice looking 944 you have there health to drive.
looks like it has a dansk exhaust on it like mine ;) good choice

Dave - the interior is dark blue; bought the car privately but the seller collects Porsches, keeps them for a while and then sells them, so sort of trade I suppose.

I agree Cobalt is the best colour (at least for a cab, and I'd literally buy a nice Cobalt/Cobalt Turbo cab tomorrow if I saw one). I have to say though I think it needs a grey interior as Cobalt inside and out is a bit too blue.

Anyway, it's a nightmare to get the washer bottle out, but the headlamps ansd windows are a different motor, and you can get to them, so if you take out the headlamp one and plug the hole you'll be temporarily fixed.

lovely looking car Steve - i prefer the look of the bridge spoiler.

are the words PORSCHE missing across the back of the car (between the rear light and above the bumper) ?

Phil - yes they are but don't worry...
The car has been completely stripped and resprayed, (one of the reasons I bought it) and as yet the porsche script hasn't been replaced. I am going to get one this week and put it on.
Also the side clear stone-chip protectors need to go back, although I'm not really sure whether they serve any useful purpose.

Have a look at the surface of some well used protectors and then say that [;)].

This is all a bit of a worry. There seem s to be a lot of people with cars that look nice. What has happened to the "Sod what it looks like as long as it goes fast" brigade?

Well you've still got Fen (although his car looks good and goes fast).

For me it's all about driving a really nice car, one which looks good and drives well and handles. But for me the 944 has always been something to aspire to and to be aspirational it's got to look good. If it doesn't look good then it's just another old car - there's plenty of them around and nobody gives a damn about them.

John,
Don't worry it will be going fast too... I have already been taking a nosey at some of the goodies on the promax website.
Also ordered the stone protectors this morning!
I just wanted a car with really good bodywork and absolutely no rust; I don't mind doing most of the mechanical bits but am not good enough at the body stuff.
