It's a 2000(X) Turbo in Arctic Silver with black leather. Fairly standard, but with a nice Kenwood SatNav/CD/DVD/TV system (which is more difficult to operate than the car).

Absolutely chuffed to bits with it. The performance is electric!

[FONT=arial"]congratulations Richard. Looks great!

Are you planning to modify this one too?

Nice one, Richard! Congrats! ...And who ended up being the proud owner of your cosseted 996 C2? [:)]

Sold it to an old boy (well, he was even older than me) in Banbury. He seemed happy, as did Peter Morgan after his inspection.

No mods planned (yet), but I can now see why people tweak these things. The acceleration is addictive, and you would have thought that 420bhp is enough, but the car copes with it so easily it isn't surprising people want more.

Perfect Richard... You beat me to getting one! Enjoy.

Well done with the colour choice :)

P.S. Good choice of X-reg to miss out on Gordon's retirement contributions ...

P.P.S. What's the turbo lag like on those ?

Martin.

Yes, that was the reason for getting a pre-March 2001 car. Seemed silly to get one a year newer and it cost you £250+ a year more in road tax. I just went for condition, mileage, and colour. (Spotless, 58000, and my second choice - Seal Grey would have just pipped it). And, of course, price (£31.5k - less than I paid for the Carrera!)

First impressions are that Turbo lag isn't all that bad - certainly not as bad as my old Scooby. It's happy pootling about town too - not at all fussy. Being twin turbos and 4WD, it's not like the early cars which can catch you napping if you aren't careful.

Looks great, Richard [;)]

That's an amazing bargain considering what it cost new. Hopefully, it'll now be virtually depreciation-proof :ROFLMAO:

Super car, sir, well done! Private buy presumably? Might just tarnish my excitement at going to look at a wee grey c4s tomorow... Health and happiness at the wheel, I am sure it must be a complete hoot to drive!

All the best
Des

Hi Richard,

Excellent new P&J. Have you got any internal shots of the Sat Nav??? Driven a few 996 TT's and probably should have gone for it instead of the C4S but when I drove her she stole my heart[:)]

Plenty of happy, very smiley days motoring for you me thinks!!!!!

Alan

Awesome car, congratulations and what a bargain!

Silver is about the best colour for the 996 Turbo IMO, really shows off the lines.

Looking forward to reading about your modifications [:)]

Congratulations Richard your new Turbo looks stunning. Very wise on buying a car without the Porsche PCM unit [;)]

Nice one Richard, it looks really good. Have you stuck with Tiptronic or gone for a manual this time?

Here you go:

And with the screen out:

Not too easy to get at the aircon controls, but I tend to leave it in auto anyway. The gismo on the right hand side is a bluetooth control. I've got to fit my Origin camera detector, so it's going to look a bit more untidy. (Still wish I had the Pioneer back).

Another Tiptronic. 3rd in a row. For my type of use it's ideal, but if it was a weekend toy I'd probably choose a manual.

Wow! And may we ask how you found one at that price ?

there's a lapis blue one on there at moment for 31.950 , you could get it for 30,000 I reckon. 2001 tip.
