This morning driving to work joining the Blackwall Tunnel carpark, I mean approach (luckily out of London) I noticed a 944 Lux? Very good condition, highly polished Red in the near side lane. During the bumper shuffle I could see across the lane he had Cup 2 alloys. They were gloss black with black and coloured centres with polished rims (ref. Fens thread) They looked fantastic and made the car looked like it meant business. I also noticed it was left hand drive, (German plate?) at this point the driver had a huge grin on his face and waving at me. First time.
I see tons of Boxsters etc. on my commute never a returned glance.

Coming back this evening close to home I followed a Skoda Felicia. It's reg. plate was P911 AAA. I think this is a case of the plate being worth more than the car!

I also get nods and waves off 944, 924 and 993 drivers. Most Boxter drivers I see around my area, and I know they are not representative of all before I offend people from the Boxter register, seem to be the sort of people who are more interested in their image and mostly use the car to get from the manicursts to the pedicurist before popping into the hair sculpturists to get a mullet with blonde highlights and don't want to drop the roof when sunny in case their eye's water and runs their mascara. And that's just the blokes!

Again I don't want to cause offense to the Boxter register, it's a fantastic car and every bit a proper Porsche driven mostly by proper Porsche enthusiasts, i'm just relaying my personal experiances.

This morning at 8am on the A2 passing under the M25 listening to Deanna (Nick Cave) my mileage turned to 130000.
Moments...

Saw two Porkers this evening. Driving home on Homerton High Street, Hackney saw in the on coming traffic a lovely black convertible Carrera??? As the traffic slowed and we pulled along side each other, I looked over to see that the driver was Jade!

Had a lovely moment around 6pm today. Was just arriving home with my car having picked it up after a week at my independent specialist of choice, and pulled over to the side of the road to park. The Subaru that I had been driving behind for about 200m, and was at the end of the road indicating right, suddenly switched into reverse and parked up in front of me. A very smart looking chap got out and came over to my car as I sat there with the engine running.

"Excuse me mate, I noticed that you have clear indicator lenses at the front and I was wondering where you got them from?" His eyes nearly popped out of his head when I walked him round to see the rears! [:D] Turns out his weekend car is a black S2 cab so we spent the obligatory few minutes comparing notes and eulogising.

Not only was it great to meet a fellow Porschephile who lives just down the road - it was reassuring to find out that even in Brum there are still some people out there who actively check their mirrors even in a 30 zone [:)]

Dust cap missing again.
Taken by the two kids who answered that they were playing heads/tails when I asked what they were doing in the road next to my car.
So back to black plastic ones.

My moment of the week, guy up the road with tidy silver 924 had bonnet balanced on a piece of wood with battery charger on. Brought back memories of my 924. Moan about my 944 as she ain't perfect, but starts first time- every time (touch wood).

I live in rural East Anglia - not much happens here!

Returning to the car, hit the fob. Nothing. No red led either. Replaced battery, still the same.
Fiddled. Took circuit out, checked cantacts etc. etc. etc. nothing. I would be able to get in car and switch off alarm but not go anywhere.
Finally called AA.
As I had spent the day at Bluewater I did not want to spend the night there too.
(Unless everyone were zombies, then it would be the ideal place to live. Would make a good film that).
Anyway I digress.
So, AA arrived one hour and fifteen minutes earlier than told (v. good) What happens? Give him the fob, he takes the circuit out and presses it and hey presto it worked. Started car, the rest is history.
Of course I felt like a total TW*T. Especially when he said 'Well thats what you pay membership for'
No! I can just look in the mirror from now on.
AA man, thankyou.
Fob, I hate you.

My brother has found a few packs of Top Trumps from our childhood. One pack was called Prototypes, he sent me this pic.
The front look like a Chevette, towards the rear looks a little more familiar.
