Son has a Golf Mk 1

Son now needs to have suspension checked/set up Camber/tracking etc etc

He refuses to use a standard tyre fitting place as he knows friends that work in them

Anyone recommend a good place near or around Hertfordshire? I assume the Porsche specialists will not want to know?

I would take them off him and tell him he can't have then back until he appreciates them.

Of course he won't be the first to lower his Golf!

My son did the same thing with his Mk 1 Golf and when I took it to a local tyre company for camber and tracking the boss there hadn't got a clue about adjusting the camber and said it couldn't be done.[:'(] He tried to confuse the hell out of me by saying that the camber was not adjustable and then talking about Ackerman angles. The look on his face was something to behold when it slowly dawned on him that I knew more about Ackerman angles than he did.[:D][:D][:D] I went home and made myself a simple camber gauge then borrowed a Tracking Gauge from a tame Garage down the road. Job done.[:)]

Peter sets up my cars, John Sims car and a whole load of other prestiege and serious performance cars on 4-wheel laser alignment. Mention my name and I'm sure a generous discount will follow ...
