my wheel swap before front and after rear...

I have gone from the cookie cutters to the cups as I prefer the style and the bigger sized wheels.

I'm a lover of the bigger tyre wall and keeping the 944 retro and original, its no 968 but horses for courses. lovely condition btw.

I do love the look of 17" Cup 2's on a 944 but I have to say yours also looks great on the Cookie Cutters. Worth keeping hold of them in case you ever decide to sell and someone wants it looking original.

Regards

I think those look better than the cookies (which age the car), but too modern for that car. D90's or dials or CS or Cup1 would work better. Are those not wheels from a Boxster/996?
Nice clean car, looks good, nice colour too.

Huh?
Teledials were an option
D90, CS, Cup 1 also "too modern" and strictly speaking not suitable, wrong offset so need spacers, as do Cup 2's (unless aftermarket low offset Cup 1 or 2 replicas)
D90 & CS were std/options for later 944's
Cup 1 (964-era) & Cup 2 (993-era) were options for 968 (not 996) - equally suitable (or unsuitable) for an early 944

Fuchs were an option, ATS Cookie Cutters standard. 1986 model year ATS Telephone Dials fit as the MY86 series two used the same offset as the series one cars.

Definitely don't sell the Cookie Cutters, as others have said. The days of them only being worth their weight in aluminium are long since passed. Also, presuming that the Cups2s are original and fitted using spacers, then I wouldn't sell those either, if you swap back. If theyre early offset copies then I wouldn't be bothered, but I always keep original wheels.

Cup 1's and Cup 2's were standard on 968's, not options, depending on MY and model.
Cup1's to 93 Cup2's 94- my

All Coupes and Cabs had 16" Cup 1's as std.
pre '94 Coupe's could have 17" Cup 1's as an option, and would have if upgraded to sports suspension (M030).
17" Cup 1's on pre-94 CS's
Post 93/94my Sport and CS's all had Cup 2's

cookies look best in my opinion...who cares that they date the car...the y reg plate does that as well...the silver rim goes really well with the car colour...above all they just look right.

Cups were 16" in diameter. You have pictured Cup1 and Cup2s which were 17" in diameter. 16" 7" & 8" Cups were standard on full-fat 968s, with Cup1s and then Cup2s being the 'option'.
