MY05 in Speed Yellow

I bought this magazine especially for this article and read it (examined the pictures) while the missus was chauffeuring me down the M6. I'ts hardly an earth shattering design, but then again the evolution to this is perhaps the best approach. Style wise it gets a thumbs up from me.

(Ready to be boo'd) The stance in shot 1 makes it reminisent of a Corvette. (That's a positive statement, I like Corvettes)

[:-]Tony what magazine was it in? Certainly can't find it in this weeks Autocar! Was there any additional text about specs etc ..ta in advance .. Robert

This was back in early July, 2nd to be precise. Think it was Autocar if I remember correctly, but the magazine's long since gone.

Not me!

The girlie looks quite tasty but if that's the finished article you can keep it.

On the one hand it looks like a Mr Spud with bits stuck on in the roughly the right position and on the other it's too similar to the current to warrant the '987'. It's lost the grace of the 97 model with too many Z4 style creases.

I'll wait to see it in the flesh.

JCB..

Tend to agree - current model has an elegance which seems to have been lost. Then again I hated the shape of the 997 when I first saw it, but it's grown on me. (Hard to find clothes that fit when you have a 997 growing on you [;)]).

It's going to look nice in Black! Love the lights.

If we can keep the interior less "bling" than the shiny happy 997 then maybe that will be a step in it's favour.

The exhaust tips have got to go (looks like a cheap hotted-up hatch job from Halfords)

Who thought that changing the doorhandles was a good idea? The new ones are horrid.

And yes, the chick driving is cute looking...[;)]

Who's going to Paris to see it in the flesh?

I am considering a day trip especially if I am still undecided after official UK literature hits the OPC's early next month .. [;)]

The exhaust tip designer must be a Vauxhall fan []

The door handles 987/997 look a bit naff

The non painted side vents as per the original must be a cost saving exercise over the current MY03 onwards painted jobbies

I would guess there maybe some sort of factory sports exhaust option as the proposed new rear bumpers lower profile looks like the original cars which allowed Porsche to supply a bespoke sports box. An option sadly deleted from the 03/04 spec Boxsters.

I can't believe after fitting a pair of nice large diameter drainpipes on the current "S" they are now offering this 1990's Vauxhall Astra / Vectra bit of scaffolding look []

Looking at the pictures in Septembers PPGT Mag I am wondering what the feck the Boxster design team have been doing for the past 2 years! The car has hardly moved on since very early scoop shots and at a OPC centre yesterday, whilst checking out Cobalt Blue as a future colour option the sales person who showed me the final unofficial scoops shots in PPGT assured me the new "S" has 270bhp!! I hope he was talking b*ll*x like the rest of his conversation which went along the lines that if I drove a 550 runout which has 6bhp more than my current example I would be truly amazed at the difference 6bhp can make. Yeah right in a car weighing 1320kg I don't think so [&o]

Well only a few more weeks then we will all know the truth [X(]
