As I have a letter of intent in for a "new" Boxster I do feel bad about doing so, but I just DON'T like it.

I'm afraid I've emailed my dealer and told them how disappointed I am with it...[]
I don't want to come over like one of those people who hates the new models (the outside is great for a re-skin[]), but somethings gone wrong with the interior...
I will reserve final thoughts until I have actually sat in it and had a feel
I think the new / old look exterior re-skin is an improvement but that dash and imagine it without the sat-nav which is how I would be buying it [
Looks like a clock out of '70s Marina
It is actually the clock from the Hillman Avenger Special Edition....
BTW, Isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side???

Having not seen the brochure, can anyone tell me what the funny round thing is in the middle on the top of the dash?

Its a sports chrono clock so you can time your lap times on track days
Its a sports chrono clock so you can time your lap times on track days
So does this mean 997's will be banned from trackdays?
Timing and timing equipment is not normally allowed...[8|]

skyline copy [
must say my first impressions from the picture are feelings of disapointment. still not convinced about the wheel - is it any smaller/chunkier than the current offering which is often quoted as being a tad big.
I'm sure it will be better in the flesh.

Also, launch pics show leather trimmed dash top and centre console - this is optional extra.
And the carphone is a joke - a five year old could have aligned it better - a real missed opportunity for an integrated handset like MBenz (front armrest)

Track timer a complete waste of money -
I agree money should have been spent on a few more extra horses making a lap timer redundant as everyone could feel the extra pace over the original models

This is the 997 Dash with standard steering wheel [&o]lovely
I am sure will be pretty much replicated in forthcoming Boxster
