MY05 & The Future 4th Porsche Model

Recently there have been rumours that Porsche is considering a cheaper, sparser model that would slot into the line-up below the Boxster. The numbers would be big but there would be a risk of damage to the sacred brand.

Talking of the Boxster, the heavily revised model will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this September. The biggest differences will be inside where the car gets a completely new interior. It's nothing like that used in the new 997 and features large Audi TT-style air vents. Exterior styling has also been modified, with bigger Carrera GT-style headlamp clusters and more voluptuous rear wings

Despite all the speculation about Porsche's fourth model line, chairman Wendelin Wiedeking recently told the German press that a final decision would not be made until next year. He also confirmed that the new Porsche wouldn't be launched until 2009.

Writer evo is still betting against the much-hyped four-door fastback saloon proposal - we're putting our chips on a big 928-style front-engined GT car. There's also the possibility of a mid-engined V8 sports car - with the looks of the Carrera GT - which would utilise much of the 997's under structure.
