Hope Porsche can respond with an equally as impressive face- lift for the 987 when the time arrives

Anyway lets hope the new head at Porsche design will be a little bit more adventurous along similar lines to the new TT efforts
Why? What don't you like about the Mk2?

I think Audi designers have done an excellent job of modernising the original article ... I am on my 5th Boxster and am thrilled with it but concede that the next face lift needs to be more than just fresh bumpers and Cayman front fog lights [&o]

Kish .. totally agree with you but I was hoping the Evolution could just be ever so slightly more adventurous along the route Audi have gone with the TT. It's still a TT but everyone, including your grandma, can see its a brand new TT. Can you say the same about the best mid engined sports car in the world at sub £40K

I think what Porsche are going for is a that ageless look and once they get it right, they want to stick with it... If you drop a private plate on a 2.5 Boxster, give it a good shine then as far as the general public goes, it is a brand new Porsche... In fact, however much everyone think their car is different (including myself), it is just a Porsche to the mass market; okay, kids with trump cards and posters will recognise a GT3, Turbo and a Carrera GT and so will car buffs but otherwise it is just a Porsche...and that is partly the reason why Porsches are still retaining values much better than other cars...
Oh, looking at the spy photos of the 997 facelift, don't expect anything radical on the Boxster either...

Having said that, I'd choose a Boxster any day. Even the old 2.5's (of which I have one) look better than the TT ten years on. I'm not sure Porsche will ever improve on those curves...
