MY08 price increases '“ why model % differences?

Being fairly new to Porsche I don't know what the typical annual rise Porsche puts on their models. Whereas the general increase doesn't seem crazy high compared inflation etc, I am curious as to why some models increase more than others.

Ie. why is the Turbo 2.3%, a GT3 1.5% and a C4S Cabriolet 1.4%?

Is this some measure of possible MY08 enhancements going into each car? Or do Porsche just think they can fleece Turbo buyers more than those people that buy a C4S Cabriolet? Perhaps, it is a reflection of demand for each model?!

Obviously they are getting more money anyway for more expensive models even with a set percentage increase across the whole range.

Can anyone shed some light on possible reasons for this?

Maybe more options have been "included" within the price of the TT against some of the other models?
As you have noted the extended navigation now comes as standard... end of the day someone has to pay for it...

The only included option my OPC say is the Extended Nav. That's about a hundred quid. What about the other few thousand?!

I think it is 2 possibilities myself...

Either Porsche have been working on the known 997TT high speed instabilities (over+understeer shown by poor Ring times) and have added a load of new tweaks to the system. Or the R&D costs of the new Cabriolet are being spread across to the coupe too.

>>Turbo 2.3%, a GT3 1.5%<<

I thought they had sold the full allocation of GT3s anyway, so this lets them keep down the "average" increase without any impact on revenue! (just my continued cynicism)

It is less than inflation, but it probably needs to be as they are seeing their lead times (read demand) drop quite dramatically.

Perhaps Porsche needs the money?

They almost certainly do with all the money they have been spending on VW shares. None left for R&D obviously [;)]
