I find the seat to be a strange option, if were pretty honest the GT3 is the track car and the TT is the GT, good as it is on the track it will never be the king of it, however the seats are almost an inbetween, you'd buy them to assist in your track days/driver experiences.
They save weight so again pointed at speed...
The TT is a great cruiser, I'm not sure I'd want to spend that long in them, however good they look or how much lighter they are....

Shame list for 08MY doesnt also include a sports exhaust and a sequential gearbox

Or even better, a 550 bhp power upgrade !

Keep your fancy seats, waste of money.

are ceramic brakes still an option? Can't find them on the car configurator and I think standard issue are steel brakes.

The rumour is that Porsche are having sserious supply problems with PCCB. I confess I am very pleased with mine but will withhold final judgement until they have completed 6 track days this year

There was some comment on another forum saying that demand has exceeded supply, so they are being rationed between certain markets and models

Also heard that those spec'ing steel disc are getting their orders completed quicker [:D]
So every cloud has a silver lining..[;)]
Bob, I look forward to hearing the results after the 6 track days, it wasn't a gamble I was prepared to take in the end [:(].

Happy to do a report on the 6 days at the end of the season. (Silverstone, Goodwwod *2, Spa. Ring and Donnington)What did you regard as trhe gamble the track days or the PCCBs?

The gamble, excluding initial costs, was that of if they were to be prone to failure and cracking as per original versions that the cost would be to high for replacement, but also that cars with ceramics would become hard to resale/trade in with prospective owners not wanting to take on cars with already known issues.
As it is the Ceramic have shown few failures so far and seem to be very much sorted, having driven a Turbo with Ceramics today I can say 100% how good they are....
A few good runs down the Millbrook straight gave them a really good testing [:D]

I think the view on PCCBs is changing from "liability" to real asset. I am certainly pleased with mine so far with great initial bite so they inspire great confidence and encourage very late breaking. No break dust or rusting is also a major plus a as far as I am concerned. Only remaining issue is durability which the 6 track days should test pretty well.

If you have been at Millbrook again Gary is there anything you need to confess? A new order for a 2008 GT2 perhaps? What speed did you manage on the mile straight?

On my milbrook half day tried a C2S both with and without the Ceramic breaks. To be honest I preferred the feel of the steel breaks but each to their own, both were scarilly capable of stopping (mile straight 120+ hands on seat stright line in very little distance at all[:-])

On a round the table spend your own money on Power upgrade on a C2S or ceramics the almost unanimous answer for the trainers ont he day was the power upgrade

Fact or fiction - I asked the Porsche guys there about the Ceramic breaks durability - general feedback was very good, however what they did say was that you were vulnerable if you went off track onto gravel; the stones can chip the glaze apparently. Once this happens its new cermic breaks all round at ~ 12k for repalcement and fitting.

The advice I got was more to have them for road use than track use

I think at this moment your correct that they are becoming an asset , but the knife is always waiting to fall [;)] I hope it doesn't.
No rust or dust was one of the big plus's for them of which we've spoken about before, even today after 1/2 day hard work it was obvious by the state of the wheels which one of the Turbos had ceramics fitted..

Mile straight was the standing start so only 167 leptons, with the ramp leading down you can get a bit more....

No changes on the horizon, the car is my GT of choice for the time being [:)]

The OPC finally remembered to send off the forms for my day.. [&:]
