Dont know about anybody else but its dam frustrating when you've paid £150 about 6 months ago ( 4k miles ) for a new tyre and a nicely placed nail jumps into the tyre wall and is unrepairable... so my earlier post on 944 ownership at 1k -1.5 k a year is being ammended to £1657.23p [8D]
Gone again with Michelin Pilot Sport which I personally find a great tyre especially in the wet.

Rant over

Got to tell the missus its baked beans on toast tonight instead of the restaurant that was planned [:D]

It must be something relative to the "Butter Side Down" law. You never seem to get punctures in tyres that are on the brink of being replaced, it is always the newest tyres that suffer.

The same thing happens with windscreens. You can go for years without replacing a windscreen and then as soon as you get a new one it gets cracked.

Pah!!! Peanuts !

Try a new set of trackday tyres, 1 trip to Spa and come home and find a giant nail in one rear tyre (had to be the bl**dy rear) and "OOh sorry, but we only sell those in pairs"!.

Ker-ching!!

Look on the bright side. At least you don't own Minardi - wouldn't want their tyre and repair bill after last weekend!

You think nails are bad, I was once driving my pickup truck down the road and not paying close enough attention to the pavement.

I drove over a short stub of 2x4 that was the scrap off a roof rafter. So it had a sharp angle on one end. The front tire tipped the 2x4 upright and the rear tire ran over it. The tire shop takes the rubber off the wheel and here is this big chunk of wood inside!
