Anybody know many unflared STs were produced?
Presumably most have been converted to flares over the years...

I don't know the answer but here is one works car over the years

The car was sold by the factory in March 1972, fitted with front arches, here it is now.

LYV 150K makes me salivate! Given the time AND money I'd love to build a replica of the 1967 'R' that won the 'Marathon de la Route' with the sporto box fitted and the little inspection flap in the left rear wing for adjusting the sporto valve. Dreams eh! [;)]

Peter - R3 has been the car that started my fascination with all things Porsche and the Sporto - simply amazing engineering and yet, so simple.

Imagine my joy when Total 911 asked me to take my RS for a photoshoot at Silverstone - and the car they were comparing it against was R3 [:D] We had the whole circuit to ourselves for an hour doing tracking shots and afterwards the charming owner of R3 asked if I'd like a drive! [;)] I was too polite but gratefully accepted a passenger ride [:D]

I'm hoping he'll bring this beautiful car out to play at a couple of events this year [:)]

Me too - against all the odds, Porsche showed just what they could do - and the cars just looked so beautiful.

There's something about standing close to a race car from this period - they just seem to be going flat out even though they're static. Something I just don't get from modern race machines.

I just love the tyre marks that show just how much he was throwing it into that corner, then opposite locking it [:D]

Nick,

Following your pics of R3 - here's a pic of my #0496 and R3 - I should point out copyright is with Total 911 Magazine (hope they won't mind [;)])
