Are you driving your classic to work tomorrow on National Drive your Classic Car To Work Day? Be interesting to see how many classic cars are on the road tomorrow, I'll be in mine. [:)]

I will be but not because of this as I've never heard of it. I take mine to work when the weather isn't great and leave the motorbike in the garage so it's done a lot of commuting this winter! Will look out for some more classics tomorrow.

Nope afraid not [:(]

Will be on the 1970's Intercity rolling stock to Liverpool St. though!! - They are CLASSIC [:D]

not heard of it, who is supposed to be publicising it? (they appear to have failed)

A Google search tells me it was proposed by Chris Evans who I believe is some sort of radio personality. It seems the idea was you gave some colleagues a lift to work in your classic car and encouraged them to make a donation to Children in Need by way of return. The latter part seems to have gone missing from the message (in my case the whole message went missing). Not that it matters as my "classic" isn't insured for commuting.

I didn't know anything about it, but I've driven to meetings in Cambridge today in my Boxster (does that count?)

I passed a V12 E-type on the way in

Possibly related, I saw a Messerschmitt going north bound on the M23 this morning - it was being passed by a juggernaught at the time and looked so small in comparison, a very brave person driving it on the motorway

I saw nothing more than my own 20 my old Range Rover on the way in today. Very disappointing.

I hadn't heard anything about it, but as I drive my S2 in to work every day I find it quite amusing that I left the Classic at home and actually went in the wifes Clio because it's MOT was due.

Unfortunately it failed, needing both front ball joints and both rear coil springs [:(] Total cost including MOT and VAT was £185 [:)]. I really hope the S2 costs the same amount next month

Did it yesterday; really enjoyed the 190-mile commute to work (for a change). Although I will admit that the ear-plugs greatly help to combat the NVH, particularly on our shonky road surfaces.

The car's 25 years old next month and was far from embarrassed in amongst the modern (heavy) metal. Think the only car I saw that was smaller than the 944 was an Elise.....you forget how much bigger most cars are these days.

She's tucked up in the Staff Car Park right now. Will try to remember to take a picture.

Will return on Monday morning; can't wait.

Nope. The S2 sailed through with no advisories so just the £25 MOT fee [:)][:)][:)]

I find it amazing these 25 year old cars can pass an MOT so easily every year, whereas our 6 year old Clio needs a few hundred spending
