National event display parking

We still need a couple of cars to display at Althorp....

It really doesn't need to be a concours car, in fact I'd rather see more "used" 944s displayed.

Saturday or Sunday, if you can commit to either or both days then please get in touch as we need to get the passes sorted.

If we don't fill the display parking then it won't be included in future events, which is a real shame as people always request it. [&o]

Paul, I've been a member for a while though not active over the past few years. I'll be attending on the Sunday, and would like to take up a spot in the register display.

1989 Guards red 2.7

Nigel

Thanks, Nigel. Car looks like new!

Drop me an email with your contact details and I'll be in touch once we have the display passes.

Not sure if my car will be at the event this year as I dropped it off at the weekend to have the bodywork sorted out and it might not be back in time. That said if it is it should look nice and smart !

I used to participate in the register display many years ago and will do so again one day, alas it's very unlikely that i will be able to attend the national for this year...brings back fond memories though of camping out over a number of years with John, Tony, Paul and Nick...the good old days when things were simpler...long before the PCGB forum existed....:)

Pete

Pete, I'm not sure my liver has yet recovered from the first Brands festival! [&o]

The exploding airbed, the repeated visits from the fire brigade, Rick playing with his chainsaw in the woods, and two people setting out on the road to a wedding, and now a family, in the back of a 924. Happy days. [:D]

Back on track, we need more cars for Althorp. Come on, chaps.

Back off thread.....Classic Memories.

Brands was perhaps the pinacle of the scurge of 944s on tour. If we found something that could burn it was.

The hilarity of the exploding air bed was only matched by finding a comatose Nick the following morning, half in and half out of his tent, wrapped in the remnants of his once comfy bed of air.

With a face so sunburnt you could toast your bread from three tents away.

Shame there is never any onsite camping anymore [:(]

no onsite camping??...that rules me out from future national events then...:(....btw I was referring to events deeper in history...way before brands hatch and silverstone which are after my time frame...I didn't mean Paul Mc either....was referring to John Sims, Paul Smith, Tony Foote and Nick Fearn...Nick always liked big fires...remember him leading my boys astray collecting timber for the fire...think that was the same year you were there with Belinda and Pete John? can't remember the venue though...mind's blank on that one..I do recall it being the time that you decided you needed a turbo though John....:)

Only thing I couldn't see is prices on the day and whether they differ for non PCGB members

Hi Oli,

Register display parking is, indeed, for Register members. The event is very much open to all, though. The price on the gate is the same for everyone, non-members can also pre-book until 7th August (I think) to speed entry on the day. Club members get a discounted price if they pre-book. [:)]

Still after a couple more cars for both days.

A picture of your car on display at Althorp could increase it's desirability dramatically. Possibly. [&:]

This is not just for concours cars, any nice examples welcome.

I'm almost considering joining the club so that my jalopy can be on the stand ... remind me how much it is to join?

I'd only be able to do the Saturday, would that be OK?

Oli.

Saturday would be fine, although it's not the main day it means a nicer start time!
