Nav TV POR-iPod

I've just bought a 996T (2004).

It has PCM2 and an iPod link via NAV TV POR-iPod. Unfortunately this doesn't work every time - the track listing is not complete and there is only white noise. I tried using my iPhone as the source with the same result. Then sometimes (on starting the car), it works.

Is there a chance that the NAV TV POR-iPod is not compatible with a latest version iPod?

Hi Andrew,

I have a Tooki Bluetooth set in my car. Had problems linking it to my Iphone. Looked around and found that I needed to update the firmware on the NAv-TV. You can go on their website and download the relevant upgrades.

It may the same case for you, hence you are having these problems.

Go on their website (Google them) and see if there is an update for your system

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Andrew,

I am not sure. I updated mine via bluetooth because I was updating a bluetooth unit.

I think you can update via USB but not sure if you need to take unit out. Sorry Andrew. Best bet would be to have a look at the website http://www.navtv.com/page/19/downloads.html

May find the answer there.

Good luck and sorry I could not help more

On by the way,

In answer to your question it may be behind the PCM, thats where my unit has been fitted, but again cant be too sure before you start unscrewing the PCM.

Thanks t1x.

I've just spoken to Nav TV support. They said that as the lead for my iPod is in the glove box, the POR-iPOD will be behind the PCM.

How easy is that to get out?

I managed to dig this up, if it helps.

But it is for the Tooki. I suppose the same principle applies.
