after 12 months of wait i am hoping to get the car back next weekend ! after a few hiccups with the engineering firm they are confident it will be done !

will hopefully post a pic of the car with the engine in it rather than under it !

Blimey! That's taken a while. Last time we heard from you was when you bought the timing tools earlier this year. I didn't realise it had been so long in progress until I looked back at your previous posts. Perhaps you could do us a summary of the work done and the rough costs, as we always find this stuff interesting.

it has been a while ! even the kids are laughing at me now!

when the wife is not looking i will dig out the receipts for the parts and total it all up, i really didn't want to get a replacement engine as i wanted to keep it all matching, in hindsight it has been the right decision but an expensive one, when she comes back i will have the piece of mind that everything is sorted .

will keep you posted .

nearing the end of the rebuild and another phone call starting with 'we need another part'

the part in question being the camshaft solenoid.. mine had seized and a new one required.. once again the chaps at porsche colchester sorted one quickly helpfully and were by far the best price compared to some other so called porsche specialists ( the ones that picked the phone up that is )

awaiting the next call... hopefully to say its ready !
