So there i was having put 911 blood into my sons veins for the last 10yrs at the Classic show Saturday and trying to introduce him to some other marques very gently when within literally 2 minutes of walking through the turnstiles he spots the PCGB stand. I hold he's hand so as not to lose him but HE guides me straight to the 964rs owned by Chris Writtle and says 'dad, can we have one of these' and then after an hour of showing him other cars he wants to leave as he's already seen he's dream car!!!
I guess in some ways it's my own fault!

Boys got taste. Just goes to show you've brought him up proper!
Congrats on your excellent parenting skills [:)]

Must be in the blood - He is 10 now so I dread to think what a decent RS will cost him in twenty years time![;)]

Thanks David,

I guess the most amazing thing is that this car was not built as a racing car. It was built as a road car to race --- with heater, passenger seat, radio option --- bare shell and welded matter roll cage !

So other than the wheels (period BBS E28 mags) and the Motec ECU, and the same exhaust mods that most other cars have, it is standard. I do have the 17" mags ...

This particular car was the first to be built --- vin ends 9011, given by Porsche to Ulrich Richter of Essen to tempt him back into racing with Porsche.

Is your Son of an age where he could have a passenger ride on a track day ?

He would be most welcome, and it is the only way that he will know what the car really feels like ...

I still take my Son in hand --- he is 32 [:D] !

Sorry to say, killed at the Nurburgring --
Ulrich Richter killed in an accident
Uli Richter was one of most successful german long-distance racing drivers. The 44 years old racing driver was killed in an accident in the sixth race for the BFGoodrich long distance championship on the Nürburgring. The accident took place within the "Tiergarten"-sector of the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. At this time Richter was second in the overall placings with his Porsche 996 GT.
Inside this left bend to be driven very fast Richter lost control of his Porsche 996 GT3, crossed the track from inner left to outer right, touched slightly the Renault Megane Cup driven by Andre Klein and Jürgen Kell on the right trackshoulder, and ran into the crash barriers first on his right side and then on his left. The Renault Megane turned around towards the curve's center, touched slightly the crash barrier and caught fire for a moment. The drivers could escape their car by own means unhurt. Rescue teams were on the scene immediately after the accident. Richter sat in his car. Four doctors fought for the life of the badly hurt. A rescue helicopter arrived in no time. But Richter died of his severe internal injuries right at the scene of the accident. The track's chief physician Dr. Helmut Hermann: "žWe tried all to save Richter's life. We had no chance." The race was stopped immediately.
Richter is the most successful competitor of this series of races with his 27 wins. Having won 41 score-groups Ulli Richter ranked second in this all-time winner's-list. Despite of his unique 20 years long motor sport career one wish was never fulfilled: the final win of the 24-hours-race. He leves behind his wife Gaby and his six-year-old son Dennis.

But not forgotten ...

Was a good show although saw nothing, as I was working hard ... thanks for the help Rich and Richard and helping me get it up ..... and everyone else he popped by ... [:)]

It was a pleasure Des, you would never have got it up on your own. Definitely a three man job with it being the size it was. I guess you need a rest after all that exertion. Thanks for the tickets and enjoy your whisky. :)

Yes mate, totally knackered after a great weekend, I will enjoy the Jura, thanks .... by the way managed to get it down eventually, it stayed up for four days on it's own[;)]

It was a lot of work but great fun ...

Melv just had to wash his hands when he cheekily felt under her skirts ...

He clearly hadn't seen the mud in North Yorkshire [:D]
