Need a bit of Advice please

I'll be starting my car for the first time in around 4 months on the weekend it might be a silly question but.

Is there anything I need to do before I start it up????
 
Pull the pump fuse/relay and churn it over until oil pressure builds and registers on the gauge.

S'wat I do anyway

I wont ever start a car that's sat there for a long period without priming the oil pressure.

Iv been doing that since the day the tax was out.

 
Id opt for the DME relay - that way you can be confident that the bores aren't being washed.
 
At the risk of stating the obvious, check the oil and water first! If I were uncertain about an engine I would turn it over by hand for two turns first - just in case there might have been a water leak into a combustion chamber - you'll feel it turning over by hand, but a starter motor ploughing it round could bend a con-rod. If it goes round twice, the combustion chambers are clear.
 
but if you also want to lubricate the bearings before hammering the con rods, crank, white metal shells, cam shaft, rings etc together do what is suggested by disabling the fuel while you prime the oil feed by spinning over with the starter motor

 
Finally had chance to get out there with the battery yesterday.

Checked all fluids topped up on a little oil

The thing just started straight up no issues at all was well happy just a shame I couldn't go for a little spin

Get it booked in for a mot next week and also getting a new windscreen put in as a little chip has now turnt into a little crack
Which has happened over the few months under cover. Little strange we've not had any cold weather
£60 on my insurance happy days 😀

When Autoglass fitted a new screen to my 944, they did a good and careful job apart from not correctly refitting the two eccentric supports at the lower edge of the screen. Suggest you make sure they are aware of them. They work on a sort of ratchet basis - you have to line up the dots to remove them, then make sure they are square and tight afterwards. Details are in the service manual in section 64, page 8. A lot of people in this forum are picky about the make of screen, but I just got Autoglass to fit their usual (Sekurit), with built-in antenna and tint-top, and it has been absolutely fine for the last year.
 
I'd remove the 2 a-pillar trims yourself first, 3 screws on each under the little covers.

That way no windscreen sealant gets on them and they don't get cut when the old screen is removed either.
