Has any got the standard settings for an S2. Please car is standard height etc just got 17 inch cup 1's with 255 rears and 225 fronts.

I am fairly certain the standard settings are in the handbook, if not definitely in the manuals downloadable for free from various locations

I have the settings for a stock S2 which I shall dig out when I get some spare time (between now and tomorrow).

However, I would be tempted to look at what settings work best on cars with 17" wheels. I know for a friend with an S2000 which had coilovers fitted along with 17" Volk Racing wheels where after it being aligned it drove horribly on the 17" on the road (but it was fine on a track) yet it was sublime and quite a joy to drive on 16" Wheels (as it is now). The cause? Apparently, later S2000s had their geometry rectified to account for the larger 17" wheels. The offset of the Volk wheels may have played a part mind you but it seemed unlikely upon further information. My friend asked for alignment centre to set the car up as being a later spec 2000, yet they set it up for the year of the car (a 2000 V plate). The alignment shop to add insult to injury was one which is mentioned on here from time to time in London.

Any kwik-fit type place that does 4-wheel laser alignment will have the settings in their computer. You could get a free alignment check, & take the printout to your preferred spanner to get the changes done, whether to standard or otherwise.

The biggest issue IMO will be adjusting the rear. Only a few have the tool for adjusting the Toe in on the rear (Hairyarse did have a part no. for this tool), and the fact that most of them will be seized unless disturbed recently, unless they have some of the oxyacetylene treatment. For this it may be worth pursuing certain channels. IMO it transforms a 944 from being a nice handler to something which is quite surprising!

There is no 'standard', it varied from year to year. And it was never a specified set of dimensions, it was a list of permissible variations.

FWIW, here's the sheet I had mine set to yonks back, showing the desired setting and what it actually ended up being. The settings I chose were the most aggressive end of the '89 model year, which was the year with the most aggressive listed settings. This gives a car which feels a bit dim-witted and vague when straight ahead but which livens up hugely when there is slight steering input, and which grips more than you'd have thought possible. Breakaway is fairly benign (depending upon tyres). I'd say it's ideal for road use for a driver who's not a complete idiot, but certainly not a genius.

Thanks Oli ! That's exactly what I was looking for. I've got the special tool for the rear from my local OPC it was less than a tenner if I remember rightly.
