I need to get my hands on some new under bonnet sound deadening pads and some new stone chip guards for the wings and quarter panels.

Where is the best place to get these from that wont cost the earth.

prestige parts for the stone shields. They (PP) put them on ebay from time to time too.

Get rid of the sound deadening! It's just holding you back anyhow! []

Fot the stoneguards they are about £35 from Kieth at Prestige Parts in Plymouth 01752 708 993
He is on ebay as kpporsche but does not have a set listed at the moment.
As pikey says loose the sound insulation it's only dead weight.

Good luck with removing the foam, it's a very messy and time consuming job - I did half of mine last year and am just waiting for the weather to improve before I attempt the second half!
It's worth it though just to keep the black dandruff off the engine.

Later cars didn't have the deadening anyway, so it's fine to remove.

yeah know what you mean about the dandruff. I detailed the entire engine bay and have to regularly blow an airline round it to clear out the "dandruff".

I will just get a rubber scraper and some thinners to remove the left over glue.
