Negotiating Sale with OPC

Do OPC salesman tend to shift from their opening offers or does it pay to sit tight and negotiate hard? What sort of margins for negotiation do they have?

Would I be right in saying it better to negotiate towards the end of the month when salesmen are trying to hit targets?

Any advice would be appreciated !

inn my two experiences both at opc hatfield find the car with spec you want and wait till 2-3 days before end of month and go for test drive.
ask for price to buy then make offer 5-10%below .
leave to simmer until afternoon of last day of month by which time salesman will be on the phone
negotiate to your liking and drive off
worked for me[:D]

I received an unsatisfactory trade-in offer on my 987 so declined it. A week or so later, same OPC called back and said that they had a buyer ready with cash for my car so would up the offer as they would not have to fund it sitting on their forecourt for any length of time. Whatever the reason, it pays to negotiate hard and have numbers from at least 2 OPC's - the one that wants/needs your money the most will make themselves known.
