Thanks to everyone that came along and made it such a great weekend. Big thanks to Doug for putting together some amazing roads and arranging for there to be no other traffic on the roads.

We came back via Windermere and that road between Alston and Penrith was breathtaking. Shame it was ruined by being in the fog. We also came across some amazing waterfalls and a rather large flood which we just got through. Was nice to finally get out of the downpour as we got closer to home.

See you all on Wednesday.

Many thanks, to Carol and Mark for organising the weekend and providing the thoughtful goody bags.

Also thanks to Doug for a fantastic route, with its great roads, spectacular views and to everyone else who went on the trip for their good company, making it an excellent weekend!

Thanks to all who organised the trip. We had a great time and it was nice to be able to catch up with everybody.

Ian and Sharon

Another belting do!!! Really enjoyed it , many thanks to Mark, Carol, Doug and Marlies for the organisation.

We went to Vindolanda after breakfast which is a Roman fort near Hadrians wall. Fascinating to see the massive remains of the fort and the associated village. The museum had all the Roman finds on display and a good cafe for coffee and lunch as well!!

Well worth a visit- excavations will take another 200 yrs so you have plenty of time[:)]

Got home at 6.00 after a soggy run down the A1

Well done to all the organisers. A great trip - at least the bit I did with Matthew - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The mysterious rattle that stopped us 'on the tops' never re-appeared so presumably just a stone caught somewhere; at least it wasn't a sheep.

Very envious of the party pics at the hotel, maybe next time!

By the way, it poured down in Pateley Bridge as well, both before and after the church service, so we didn't escape.

Paul.

Great Weekend,

we can only reiterate all that as been said previously, just finished the biscuits this morning (thanks Carol)[:)].

The visit with Carnaby35 to Vindolanda with very informative and only spoilt by the rain, some of the roads up the Haltwhistle from Nent Hall were excellent

FYI the mine we passed on the Saturday was a Lead mine

looking forward to the next event

Lorrane & Steve

Ditto to the above
Great weekend, and nice venue, even the company was okay!
Food was great, well, I thought the lamb was excellent.
Shame about the weather on Sunday, me and Jane headed for Penrith but decided not to leave the warmth and comfort of the car
The roads en route were great for driving (even when wet)
Could do with a trip to Lakeland Motor Museum but don't think Jane will be interested as they don't do handbags or shoes!
Dan would be up for it though.
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon

Better late than never, a big thanks from us for a great time last weekend. Very well organised (thank you Mark, Carol, Doug and Marlies), loved everything about it. Have to say we particularly enjoyed going 'off piste' on a mini Doug Sud tour along with Ian and Sharon, what an absolute blast of a drive, awesome [:)]. Thanks Doug for a great route and a great pace, I think we might have discovered the 'Cumbria triangle'!
