New 911 Turbo caught undisguised
- Thread starter Andrus

Yep,
PC's are already taking deposits on something yet to be announced. [8|]
530 BHP and 4 wheel steer ................apparently. []
Notwithstanding the recent Autocar report, Centres are still insisting the Turbo 'S' is to be the first to be launched.
Baited breath and all that!

Even though they say 'undisguised', Porsche is keeping the side air intakes the most secret. I hope it's worth the wait. Something tells me they'll be oval like the 981, which I don't think will work so well on the 991's flanks without the scalloped doors. Let's hope there's a surprise under the disguise, likewise the front air intakes disguise (but there doesn't seem to be much left to reveal...[8|] )

I have to say I'm slightly disappointed - the rear looks pretty much as expected with the standard Turbo spoiler etc, but on first sight the front is almost identical to the base Carrera S / 4S models.
I appreciate that it's a different type of car, but comparing that to the GT3 picture, the GT3 looks so much better. Hopefully there are a few surprises still to come and they can produce something a bit more aggressive but still unmistakably 'Turbo'. Maybe the Turbo 'S' will look better?!

At first glance I thought they'd trought back the plaid interior from 1977 []
Spot the difference competition.......[]ORIGINAL: Oggy
What a let down []
Doesn't look a patch on the GT3 IMO.
Suspect it will be quite quick though...
At the end of the day the 991 turbo will look like a 911 - I'm not sure what they could do to the outside to dramatically change things? However, what they do to the driving experience is another thing..........
It's a fair point tscaptain
I've just stumbled across the new Panamera and had it not been titled as such I would not have spotted the difference. I've just been on the Porsche website and it is true. This is the new Panamera

The front page is quite humerous. Under the words "The New" it says "Thrilling Contradictions". Indeed, it isn't very new[]

Hi Alan,
They managed it quite well with the standard 991 and the GT3 though ? Both look like 911s and both look fantastic in my eyes....one being very clean and classy, the other mean and brooding. To me these pics make the Turbo look very average from the front and like a dogs dinner from the rear (spoiler, exhausts and rear valance all look like after thoughts to me). Undoubtedly will be awesome to drive....but so will the GT3 and that looks much prettier and will be significantly cheaper. Is all subjective of course but for me, they could have done so much more with the looks of the Turbo while still making sure it retains the 911 DNA.
Rumour has it that it will "only" be up about 2% on the 997 price.ORIGINAL: garyw
Makes me think that the price of the new Turbo is going to be even more crucial!
It's looks sadly don't yet look to be towards it rumoured cost price!
