New: 924, PCGB Member etc: Insurance Tips?

Guest

New member
Hi all,

I'm pleased to say that as a result of moving house and no longer being able to walk to the office .... I've now got an '82 924 in Guards Red.[:)]

The only downside so far is that it needs insuring [:'(]

Now I'd really appreciate any tips on which of the MANY insurers have proven to give a good service at a sensible price, especially for the lower cost cars such as the 924.

I'm interested in the whole package, not only a nice price. So inclusive breakdown cover, and any other goodies would be attractive.

Any recommendations?

Many thanks
Gary

Any of the advertisers in Porsche Post should be able to help.

Alternatively, if you are not yet a Club Member (and it is well worth joining - even if only for the Insurance discounts you can get!) you can find many of the same Porsche Insurance Specialists in a copy of 911 and Porsche World magazine - available at your local WH Smith.

Yup, I'm all joined up, the membership pack came thru on Saturday morning.

That was the start of my dilemma: so many to choose from, but not knowing which might be the best to start with...

I guess I just have to ring 'em all[:(]

You have 2 choises.

(1) Normal mmotor insurance for cars that will be used for over 6,000 miles per year.

(2) Classic insurance for cars covering 6,000 miles or less. This is far less expensive.

We have many advertisers in Porsche Post. All have proved to be reputable other wise we would not accept their advertisments.

Classic Insurance
I do have a favourite ( no surprises there) and that Is Carole Nash Insurance. This is a very large company specialising in motorcycle and classic car insurance.
Carole is a Porche owner and a member of our club as well as being a major sponsor. If you wish to talk to them ring 0800 2985566, ask for John Garrard and quote my name. It will help.
