A bit harsh (imho !) but yes also a tad Jag/Aston from the rear but least thats an improvement on "a tad Panamera"

Oh damn! Just when I thought I had found the ultimate Porsche fantasy in Panamera they go and bring this out.

That is the best looking Porsche I have ever seen, and if it goes like a Panamera.......

It's a beaut. Just when people were saying that Porsche can't make pretty cars. I wonder if it will be a transaxel layout?

not as good looking as the original , take the badge off and could you tell that it was a porsche ? definatly not worthy of the 928 marque

Not an official pic, just a mag's best guess rendition - seeing as it's likely to be based on the ugly as sin Panamera, I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet on the looks front[8|]

Well it looks good enough in the pictures and the only bit of Panamera that is a little unfortunate is its rear 3/4 view. In the tin it looks stunning from every other view point IMO.

Hmmm, having seen 4 'in the tin' now, I guess we'll have to agree to differ on that one John![:D]

I'm with Nick the Panamera is not pretty from almost any angle , Ive seen several in showrooms and on the road, so as far as Im concerned the new 928 has a big jump to make it look good, the rendition shows all is not lost - still dont like it much thou'!

Perhaps, but the looks are irrelevant once you drive it. It could look, as Clarkson suggested, like an inside out monkey but drive it and you will still want it.

Not sure I could shell out money to own a car if I couldn't live with the looks, regardless of how capable it may be. (Not that I can even begin to dream of buying a Panamera or indeed anything of even remotely the same cost !!!)

Guess the old adage of if you are driving it you dont have to look at it holds true but even so...

Mmm Toyota Celica frontend mated to a DB9 backend with a Porsche badge! [:'(]

I think Porsche need to sack their design team!! [8|]

You cannot judge how a new 928 might look on the basis that it shares the same floorpan as the Panamera though considerably shortened. The Panamera has a fat bottom to provide enough room to fit four adults in the back in comfort without the roof line swooping down and hitting their heads. There may be other more attractive cars out there but they wont be as good for the rear passengers due to the compromises made in the name of styling. Also though I think the CGT and the 928 are the only truly attractive cars Porsche have ever built the 928 did have a bit of a bulbous backside anyway, so that styling queue is not exactly new to Porsche with the Panamera. I know some people like to bash new Porsches just becasue they have the audacity to build anything other than air cooled rear engined sportscars (how dare they!), but it's a bit harsh to bash a car before they've not even announced they're going to build. They don't stand a chance do they. As long as it is a transaxel car and looks anything close to the pic above I will be more than a worthy successor to the 928.
