New 944 owner needs service

New member
I have just purchased my first porsche, a 1986 944. I live in the Southend area and want to find a good specialist to carry out some service work. Does anyone know of a good specialist in the area that they can recommend.

Thanks very much.

Ian

Hi Ian and welcome to 944 ownership. I hope you have lots of fun together.

We don't have a lot of choice of independant specialists in Essex and the only one I know of now is Autostrassa in Coggeshall - not the most local of places, but you get use to it in time. They tend to be very busy so you need to book well in advance - 6 weeks or there abouts.

They are very reasonable in cost and willing to source and fit second hand parts if you require. They will fit parts supplied by yourself or they will get spares from Lancasters as required.

I've always found them very helpfull, willing to pull your leg and, on the whole very knowledgable about the 944. I do occaisonaly discuss how I think a problem should be resolved but I'm sure they only do that to make me feel better.

Their details are in Porsche Post.

See you at the meeting on Tuesday?
