Hello everyone,
Not new to Porsche, but new to 911/964s. This is the one I've just bought:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/378192.htm, which seems to be featured in another topic on this forum. Not sure why that poster didn't buy the car because it seems to be a great example. The 125 mile drive home yesterday was fantastic!!! It gave me plenty of time to figure out where all the minor controls are [].
Of course, I've got some initial questions if you have a minute:-
1) It's had a new clutch very recently, which seems to operate fine, but the biting point is very close to the floor. Is this normal? I'm used to a 944 clutch, in which you only have to press the pedal three quarters of the way down to shift smoothly.
2) The backlighting for the 2nd from left instrument dial appears not to be working. Do the dials just swivel out? It looks like they're being held in by a rubber gromet.
3) The brakes require a firm shove to work well. I like meatily weighted controls but just want to check that this is normal. Perhaps there's less power assistance than on my 944s.
OK, going out to wash/wax her as she got filthy in yesterdays conditions.
Cheers,
Neil
P.S. I must change my signature.
