Hi
I've just joined PCGB having bought a 964RS Touring, it is RHD finished in Maritime Blue, I believe it is 1 of 6 or 7 in the UK. Hopefully I'll be able to upload some pics soon, in the meantime I look forward to meeting you at PCGB events soon. Unfortunately I'm unable to make Silverstone, but I will be at Ragley in September.

cheers
David

David Welcome....did you buy it from Shirley's? Put your name on the above thread if you wish to show it at Ragley Hall...

Des
Yes - I bought it from Shirleys, although I didn't collect it until May this year as I asked them to undertake some light restoration work.

Btw - which is the Ragley Hall link?
cheers
David

Think it says "15 Jahre Display Ragley Hall 9th September" as above[] BTW my father - in - law (wellex but a great mate) nearly bought it....

Hi All,
Just logged on for the first time, also purchased a 964 RS Touring RHD, Midnight Blue. Purchased from Gmund last year.
Went to the first couple of PCGB events at Reading HQ and met a few guys, no other 964RS though.
Am about to have Hot Film conversion done on above, can anyone advise whether this is worth while and does it make much difference to the overall performance? Is it worth the £1k?
Thanks

All explained in new book, see thread "15 years of the 964 RS - order now"
£12 of technical insight - and all proceeds to the club!

Hi
I think your car was in 911 & Porsche World a few years back. It had done 35k miles at the time. looked fab then!

Have got dozens of copy's of 911 and Porsche World, will have a scoot through them. If anyone does know the number it would be appreciated.
The car now has 40k on it, but it hasn't been used much in the last 7 years, from the the file I got with it. Some years just 7 miles obviously to and from MOT centre. Have racked up 2 k in it in 9 months. Its just great! It has a cup pipe and cat bypass so the sound is just about right.

Paul, I think you'll find this is now with Gmund.

Or it was !

Hot film --- I can't say that I am sure tuning a Touring is hthe best way to go ?

Even Motec's on Lightweights are a slightly contentious issue --- IMHO.

The car up for sale or just sold in the press for £47,500, is the second of two RS Tourings made for UK in RHD, Midnight Blue colour this one has no Sunroof. It was also for Sale in Porsche Post in July 1999, for £42k with 19k miles.
The one Gmund sold in Sept 2006 was the one I bought, with a sunroof and headlight washers as options and 38k miles on the clock. The previous owners of my car (x2) had purchased through OPC's, so I don't hink it would have been in the classifieds before.
Thanks for the advice on Hot Film, will maybe wait for my next purchase before modifying from standard on this car.
If there is any owners of Lightwieghts who are interested in comparing my Touring, please let me know. I would be interested in the comparison as I haven't yet had the opportunity to experience a Lightweight RS.

Simon,

you need the April 2003 copy of 911 & PW . It has a small picture of your car on the front cover.

cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for checking that out, will have another look through and see if I have that months copy. Checked with 911 and PW and they are out of stock. No doubt I will track it down somewhere!!
Cheers
Simon

Might be able to lay my hands on a spae copy of 911&PW april 2003, can check tomorrow. The car on the front cover being referred to is maritime blue though, not midnight blue.

Hi David

Welcome to the exclusive club. I've got on of the other RST's - purple one. Absolutely love it. Had the Motec done on it as it already had the single mass flywheel and the lumpy running and cutting out got om my nerves. All work was done by Bob Watson and I can't recommend it enough. Now has north of 300bhp from 275 standard. Bob also did the Motec on the other dark blue one that is / was for sale for £47500.

My one has also got the lightweight seats - which is good as I use it for track driving and as my daily drive, so it is a good compromise.

See you at the track some time.

David

Sorry I've muddled this up. Its Davids car, not Simons that is featured in the magazine.

RS Touring Owners on this thread
David M777- (David) purple
964RS_DAB-(David) maritime blue
Barty964rst- (Simon) midnight blue
pauldishman (Paul) silver

thats 4 out of 7 accounted for- Anymore out there?

Paul

I had a note from Martin Lawrence (Maritime Lightweight) saying that he's compiling a database of 964RS vehicles. He had no knowledge of my car, although he has details of 5 other RHD tourings. Hopefully Martin will be able to post the colours on this thread.....

I have got a copy of the 911 world magazine which features my car.

cheers
David

Thanks David. So, is there 6 or 7 RHD Tourings?

The colours i have are as follows:
Maritime blue x 2
Midnight blue x 2
Amethyst x 1
Silver x 1

I do have a few details missing for a couple of the above cars. If the owners are on the forum and would like to help me fill in the gaps, please send me a PM or visit my 'under construction' page at:

www.964rsdatabase.com

Many thanks
Martin
