New 988 Boxster - anyone any pics?

The 987 facelift is due later this year. That is likely to have a 4 year model life, so I don't think the 988 is too likely yet.

Nice pic though [:D]

Mark, 986 facelift only stayed for 2 years 2003/04, so 2010 may be a possibility for 988 don't you think?

Don't read too much into that rendering of what the 988 Boxster will look like because its just a hobbled together CG from Road & Track that only serves to help shift their mags off the shelves.

The 986 f/l was only around for 2 years but the 986 shape was around for 7 - 8 years. By that rationale you would expect the the 988 to land around 2012: so what's going to come first and which is going to be more impressive - 988 or a stadium in East London.....

My understanding is that we are now on a 4 year facelift cycle, with the more major changes every 8 years.

Of course there are always minor (and not so minor - such as the 3.4 engine in the S) changes every year or two anyway. Anything that enables the salesman to say that the "new" model is so much better than your 18 month old car [;)]

What Porsche call major I am afraid most others would struggle to call "face lift" even [&o]

Now Porsche no longer have the type of residuals to justify not making serious changes perhaps Porsche should think about hiring some adventurous designers who can actually create something fresh and exciting for there ever growing customer base.[;)]

Oh yes, very CGT like!! Love the image

There is no reason what so ever why the next Boxster couldn't look like that photo shop job above ... It would be completely fresh whilst still 100% retaining the original Boxster genes ... Porsche would revive the sales to new high levels to both existing and first time ever owners but unfortunately my money thinks they wouldn't be this brave [&o]

Looks fantastic! Seriously kill the competition and it's already a sublime car.....go on Porsche! (breath not being held)
