New 991.2 GTS C2

Evening All,

Currently contemplating a new 991.2 GTS C2, as a build slot has appeared for a March delivery.

Considering the C2 with a manual transmission.

Colour-wise, short list is GT Silver, white, Guards Red.

Minimal options - front & rear parking sensors, heated steering wheel.

Maybe swap alcantara wheel for leather, as will be daily driver.

Big decision is the interior. Full GTS interior is gorgeous, but pricey. Is the standard interior a bit too basic? Halfway house would be the leather upgrade, keep alcantara bits (apart from wheel) and forego contrast stitching, coloured belts, coloured rev counter and carbon fibre trim...

All input is welcomed. :)

Colour, of course is subjective and very personal, but when you see the 991 in Carmine Red it does imo blow the socks off guards and is so much more interesting than the usual Porsche colours. I wrestled with the GTS interior options myself and I was looking at the leather like you as it was a lot extra and I thought I was pushing my luck already with the new GTS and her who must be obeyed and the budget, but then she saw the trim etc and said I had to have it, so the budget got increased and I’m so glad I did, it makes the GTS imo.
It such an awesome car, a jewel in the 991.2 crown.

I assume the GTS with the 991.2 is still pretty well "biffed" with toys anyway right? (Sports Chrono pack etc?)
I'd bite the bullet and go for the full interior, after all, we do have to think about re-sale at some point (even if it's after you've kicked the bucket!) and I'd always go for as much as I can afford. You do say it's gorgeous, so....
Agree re steering wheel, have had alcantara steering wheels before and although lovely, they are a pain in the arse to keep looking lovely.

Oh, and colour.. White of course :)

Thanks, Russell! My current Panamera is Carmine, so I fancied a change. Miami Blue and Racing Yellow aren't off the table either! Your Miami GTS looks great! :)

P.S. Did you keep the alcantara bits in your full GTS interior, or go full leather? (Part of me says that alcantara is in the DNA of the GTS)

Thanks, Jimmy. On another forum (Pistonheads) I read that the full GTS interior is essential for resale. An exaggeration I think, but it does look stunning. And drivers of the Macan GTS that I know are all glad that they specced the GTS interior. :)

If I go for white, I may one day be tempted to get Martini decals applied! ;-)

If you do (which you should) drop me a line, and I'll give you the details of the guy that did my "carreras" :)

They look great! You've got me thinking now!

Maybe go flat white and use the £834 (metallic paint cost) to get the Martini effect... [8D]

or you could do this (Loaner a few years ago)...

PS, I'd recommend darker wheels on a white car, they make the white of the bodywork "pop" more, likewise with tinted glass. It's all about contrast!

The GTS would have the black Turbo S 20" centre lock wheels.

Hmmm - maybe the Martini look is a step too far. Might play it safe with GT Silver or Guards Red. Or a touch 'braver' with Racing Yellow or Miami Blue... :)

I found choosing the colour the hardest of all the options. I'm very happy with mine - GT Silver with the black wheels etc looks really classy. The GTS interior is expensive - but it's what really sets the GTS apart and makes it special, all the other options are available on the S - Porsche are very clever with their marketing!

Thanks, Gorsh.

Am now just crunching numbers and wondering if for my needs & usage, whether the Carrera T would be worth a look... Decisions, decisions! [8|]

I went with full GTS interior with the alcantara and silver stitching which looks awesome.

My last car was white, however (and I don‘t think it’s coz it’s a GTS) I’ve had lots of people go out of their way and tell me how much they love the colour of my car and one guy pulled up next to me at the lights and gave me the thumbs up and the perfect kiss sign, I was not expect this and I never got that in 4 years of owning the white car.

That aside, White would look awesome with the right trimmings, not sure martini is the right look imo, are you driving for martini! The red Carrera strips look great (above) btw or black if you have black wheels and black glass, I thought about applying something like that in black on mine.

If I was going for white again I’d go for black wheels, I’d consider the door carreras and two wide stripes from the front over to the back also in black, either like the R or twin stripes closer together and parallel up the Centre of the car. This would also look good with the black glass roof and back windows in black.

I think Speed Yellow looks lovely but it is extremely shouty, unlike bright blue :) it would be a brave choice but one that has been popularised buy all the GT4’s that got spec’d last year in yellow, which is arguably the best GT4 colour imo. I tried to get the Mrs onboard with yellow, but she hates it, so it’s a no go for me, I can’t afford a divorce :)

I went for the GTS Alcantara package GW £2391 and the Leather interior package which is a free option. I don't see that the GTS interior package justifies the additional £2324 for a bit of red stitching on top of the GW package.

And also I went for the red seatbelt option

Yeah, it’s a bit more than a bit of stitching - coloured Rev dial, stitched leather on the dash tops rather than just rubber, carbon fibre trims inside, if you spec’d seperately the stitching would probably cost the difference on its own.

I’m sure the one I test drove with leather and no GTS interior had a rubber dash top (scratches head) maybe it didn‘t but it looked like it.
It might have been the std interior and swapping the alcantara for leather that I saw - it wasn’t great anyway imo.

Slight change of direction! Just about to push the button on a March build Racing Yellow Carrera T. :)
