new Targa and Targa S spied up close.

more pictures here.

Y'know, with the roof section off and from the front 3/4 view, that car is in danger of being the ugliest 911 yet made.

Fingers crossed it looks better when we see the final version.

There have been a number of sightings with the 'return-to-the-classic-wrap-around-rear-screen' obscured under disguise. I'll wait until one is uncovered.
You will find some undisguised renderings online too.

Only ever worked well on the early 911, another example of flogging the Donkey .... but hey, wait for the the GEN II or maybe facelift MK3-GEN IVA with variable 3 speed seats[;)]

Personally I never saw the later targa design as a true targa, being without removable Targa panel(s).

Each new 911 generation rests on pretty much the same family of models. E.g. we can expect an RS version to follow the 991 GT3, using similar ingredients that enhanced the 997 GT3 into the RS.

I'm no big targa fan & I probably wouldn't buy one, but it might be the only new flavour in the 991 range.

Roof looks good in motion. They've sprung a surprise too with that.

Still not sure where the roof goes! Perhaps this one will grow on me but looks wise not convinced atm.
