thanks steve!
looking forward to hearing of any trips -just been thumbing through prev issues of PP and enjoying tales of scenic journeys!

Dylan, welcome and congratulations. I knew you would make the 993 step sooner or later. Will be interesting to get a drive-report comparing it with the cayman and 996 once you have had a chance to bed her in.

just gto back from a beautiful drive home via saddleworth moor over the pennines and down home on a fabulous sunny day

very happy and glad i made the move back into a 993!!

first thoughts today were how excellent the aircon was-numerous thread on other forums have stated how they dont stand comparison with more modern sysyems but it coped fine with a very hot day on the M1(hot by gb standards!!)

2nd thoughts are that it feels completely different from the 996 and cayman s-it feels a "real"porsche if you get my drift(i expect you will)!!

as the boys at camtune told me many yrs ago when looking after my 996 4S the newer water cooled porsche can feel like any bmw /audi/merc until you start to really open it up-not the same with 993 and prev 911`s which feel different ALL the time!!

will post more comparisons when ive had more fun!!

Well done enjoy, hope you can live with the 993 coming from modern tech.
How does the 993's tiptronic compare with the caymans?

neil-compared to more modern tip i actually found the 993 version rather more involving-partly as i felt it needed to be in manual mode ALL the time to make the most of its character.the newer tips are of course 5 rather than 4 speed, smoother etc but rather sterile-rather like the comparison of the 993 generelly, versus the newer porsches.
overall so far i am really pleased.

alan-sadly it was a really flying visit-linda couldnt take the time off and i literally trained up this morning, took the full expert and very helpful handover from the very kind david richardson and then tootled my way over the pennines then straight back down the M1 for evening clinic.slightlymad day but so worth it[:D]

i am absolutely smitten -i didnt really know what to expect, but the car has been unbelievably cared for by david-it really is flawless-and a total credit to him
i am really looking forward to getting back into club meets now linda and i should have more time with 4 of the kids off (most of the time!!)

all the best
dylan and linda

Well done Dylan really pleased for you and she looks a beauty [:)]

I made the move in to 993 this year and they are simply great cars. Look forward to more pics when you have time [;)]
