I'm delighted to announce the appointment of a new assistant for the register: Gary Willn
New Register Assistant
I'm really keen to do far more with the 997's this New Year, and with so many new club members it's been time to enlist some support. I'm delighted to welcome Gary Willn as 997 Register Assistant. A longtime Porsche (and BMW) enthusiast who's lucky enough to have just collected his gorgeous 997 Turbo from Stuttgart and christened it at the Nurburgring !
At just 38 and married to Joanne, Gary is on his third turbo, the previous two being the 996 in coupe and cabriolet forms. Gary has his own lighting and special effects business, based in the midlands, and is therefore able to manage his own time around his passion for Porsches. A keen track-day participant, and motorsports enthusiast, Gary's also taken his cars touring - Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Austria proving how good a GT the 911 is. As you'd expect he's a real help in the club, the last year alone he's supported Gaydon, Le Mans, IOM, Porsche & Polo and Eynsham Hall. In between all of this he's a major contributor to the forum. A great all-rounder then, and a real asset to the register and the club !
I'm conscious that there's such a gap between register events "" a consequence of how long they take to arrange "" so I'd like to do far more driving events and smaller meets next year in support of the bigger days-out like Jaguar and Sunseeker. As you'll see Gary is a dab-hand at driving tours and track days, as well as a fountain of knowledge on the 911, and I've asked him to help me get some smaller days-out off the ground. Watch this space !
